Post by: lentower on September 12, 2011, 07:24:31 AM
i'm not aware of a sign language interpreter being on
stage with amanda, brian, or the d.dolls before
( might just be my ignorance ; - )

we need to see more of this, and not just with our fav two!

(all you need to do to get on stage with amanda is sign well ; - )

indeed it was a brilliant idea and many more musical artists should consider doing this regularly....I would love to see black metal done with sign interpreter! (I don't actually like Black metal etc but it would be useful to those fans who have ruptured their eardrums by head banging in a speaker cone)

Here's a clip of a British Sign Language interpreter signing to Coin-Operated Boy from a few years back... My favorite part is Amanda's playful challenge to him... never be al.... go. and I'll never be alone... go. and I'll never be al...go... :)

Awesome, I didn't notice this thread before :D

I agree with you Len, that's why I asked Amanda if she was okay with me signing the show: people need to get used to an interpreter. And actually, Robin, last year there was a Deaf Metal festival here in the Netherlands with interpreters:

There are more clips on that account.

I also loved that Coin Op clip. My friend did that one, not sure if I have a video of that one, but if I do, I'll post it later.

INCREDIBLE VIDEO

thanx!

if some of you signers want to:

there have to be places on the WWW
where signers meet

it be awesome, if they were told about
a, b, and the d.dolls schedule and
how to contact them to see if having
a signer on stage for any given show would be OK
(It should generally be OK, but venues can be WEIRD)

one way to expand the fan base in an swesome way!

Just out of curiosity...  If someone's signing the words to, say, that song in the
video above, are the signed lyrics supposed to be comprehensible?
