I know she's been playing lots of 80's music for the GTO shows, but the ooo wooo reminds me of Jason Webley's song "There's Not a Step We Can Take"

That doesn't seem to be it. It was more fast-paced and punk-ish. Maybe something like the Violent Femmes or the Clash?

Probably a dumb question, but you're sure it's not Neutral Milk Hotel? (I realize they are not punk!)  I just know they were played before/after the show I saw and that Amanda's a big fan.
