To get started -
Find the thread in this forum (or click the link to each thread near the show date). Use the show-specific threads to coordinate with other Recon members who are spreading the word about the same AFP show. You can use the show=specific threads to arrange meet ups, post information about the venue & surrounding area, share tips, post pictures and screen caps of your work etc.

+How can you promote the tour? You can start off simple and tell people about the tour and spread AFP's tour page link (
http://bit.ly/AFPlive) around to your friends. You can post a flyer around town (more info
here), you can announce it in your college or high school newspapers, radio stations, zines, newsletters etc. Be creative, the possibilities are endless.
+Are you attending a show? Do you live near one of the tour stops?Tell your friends about the concert! Change your status on twitter, facebook, myspace etc. and let your social network know that AFP will be in your town!
+Don't live near a tour stop? No problem!Just because AFP isn't making a stop in your city that doesn't mean you can help spread the word! If you have friends that live in or near any of the tour stops tell them about the show! You can still use your social networking websites, message board avatars/signatures and personal blogs - for example - to let people know AFP is coming to their town.

Example 1: If you use the iLike music application on Facebook search for "Amanda Palmer" and find the tour date you're going to. Select "I'm going" and share the concert posting with your facebook friends and post it to your newsfeed. If you are on Facebook RSVP to the show that you are going to and share the event link:

Example 2: If you use Myspace post a bulletin about the tour. You can post one every day or every few days.

Example 3: Spread your excitement around in your blog, Instant Messaging profiles, and other internet signatures.
These are examples of ways to utilize social networking services that you already use to help spread the word of this tour. There are many ways to promote AFP, the tour and your local show that involve you actively going out there and extending beyond your own network but a great place to start is by using the resources you already have.
