I need to share a picture. One night at the Forest, trying out Johnny's doctor stuff:

I should stop hijacking this thread for my own Fringe reminiscences.

WOW  :D

How did you remember so much, especially after all that cider? You have an incredible mind that seems to be able to recall every little event, no matter how small or inconsequential, and then to put it all into words that absolutely get it across to anyone and everyone. AMAZING!

I was only in Edinburgh for one night, but having read your 'memoirs', I feel like I was there for the whole time you were.

We're definitely going back next year, and for at least a week...

See you all there  :headbang:

Loved the Umbrella parody.

Here's another Umbrella parody I found on the internets (I don't think anyone else has posted it, but I'm not sure):

Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSEgaBTEJuE

Hee, hee.. that's awesome. It took me  a minute to figure out that it was a man, lol! Sign of a true drag talent I say!

Love, love love for the Fringe Umbrella parody too. You actually sound really great on that song... I have to confess that I actually kinda like that song... um...I CAN'T be the only one... am I? I have a soft spot for infectious songs.
As for the rest of Fringe, I so wish I could have planned a vacation around this. As it turned out I had a friend that was performing too, but he didn't let me know until about 3 weeks prior, so not enough time to gather funds for an over seas excursion.  It's a pity, because all of it would have been amazing. Too bad the NY Fringe isn't quite this dramatic. There MUST be some nook in the city that could handle a Spiegel tent!!!

Heh. Beat me to it! Diamanda Galas has played there the last couple of years but I keep missing her. :( I think Meow Meow played there last year and will hopefully return at some point. I'm sure there's other cool stuff happening there.

Good question. Maybe there can be a follow-up after next year's Edinburgh run? It'd be a nice way to give homebound Yanks a little taste of Spiegel Madness.

OoooOO!!!! I'm usually google QUEEN. Just didn't think of it. Nothing new, I'm usually a day late and a dollar short on these sorts of things.
As for the $63,000 question... Yeah! How come?

i assume you've read her latest blog?
well, it is one of the most complex, as well as high and fascinating link counts, ones she's done - it's getting a  full read when i have time

i assume schedule (from latest blog and known concert dates):
MT for a week to finish yoga training
Boston/Cambridge to do first weekend of Sxip HoC
Nashville into Oct to finish solo album

and perhaps concern she'll fill the tent in NYC
and perhaps other things

next year?

Also, I saw Suitcase Royale at the Comedy Festival this year. Purely by chance, as we went to see La La Parlour, but they weren't starting for another week, so we saw these guys instead. The more I think about the show, the more I appreciate its humour. I did love the melodramaticism, and the fact that they were able to improvise to cover up anything that didn't go to plan. Plus I'm a sucker for anything with a double bass in it.

I saw SR and, to be honest, it left me a bit cold. Maybe it was just because I was dead tired when I saw it but I didn't do much more than chuckle. That being said, the guys really got into it, and it was an inventive little piece. They also put up with me doing a bit of uninvited audience participation.  >:D Oh, and the sideways cover of "Delia's Gone" scored points.

If I get a chance, I'd like to see them again. Like you hinted, I suspect the show works better on reflection and on a second viewing (not to mention when one isn't struggling to stay awake!).
