I got really bored on Friday

so I broke out my Lego bricks and proceeded to make a fully functional trebuchet!

I assume you didn't simply build the pre-mixed set...



I'm thinkin' about getting the nephew that, as he quite enjoys the drawbridge set
we got him....  Not sure how the Clone Troopers and Assassin Droids got to the
castle, but that drawbridge stopped 'em short...

I made this car the other day to get it's impedance equivalent, I really need to buy some LEGOs & all the programable transductors/motors.

no, mine actually throws marbles a goodly distance (around 10 feet). I don't have the correct counterweight to ammunition ratio, though, which should be around 133:1. I don't think the Lego can support a counterweight that should be around 8 lbs or so.

BTW, the catapult shown in this kit is actually a torsion catapult. I discovered that Lego cannot deal with the strains that come with a torsion device, at least at a scaled down size.

No torsion mechanism, just a "counterweight" (i.e. a place to tap your finger and watch the
little far-too-light-to-break-anything plastic 'rock' fly.)

Actually, I suspect they have some sort of policy on the matter, as I don't believe any
of their sets have any "powered" components - spring loaded, or wind up or anything...

Are there still motorized lego sets?
