i've always wandered, how do lesbians have safe sex?  :-\ :embarassed: :embarassed:

Lord-- I don't know, either. http://lesbianlife.about.com/cs/sex/a/safersex.htm This was the first result I found for "Safe sex for lesbians" and all it seems to say it make sure you don't ingest any fluids that can carry AIDS, HIV, etc. i.e., vaginal fluids, blood. That got me thinking about oral sex and, apparently, STIs can be transferred that way, too. I'm going to admit, outright, that I didn't know that. I don't want to put a condom on a guy for giving him a blowjob or one on me if I'm receiving one. :/
I had made a presentation on AIDS years ago at highschool and I had read how do people get infected and there was oral sex too, because suppose you have the tiniest cut on your lips/mouth, if you get in contact with even a tiny drop of the person's blood you can get it.
But as weird as it would be for a guy to give a blowjob with a condom, I don't think women even have the choice...

I'm not putting a condom in my mouth ¬¬
lol i can understand. i mean, why not suck a dildo then.

latex gloves and no mouth contact, since i can't think of a dental dam made that is big enough for some things.  saran wrap is also a running joke, but i know people who actually stock it in hopes they might one day have sex.  it might be pertinent to also note, i never met, and by 'met' i mean 'did the hibbety dibbety with', a lesbian who actually practiced safe sex, outside of the political rhetoric that is.

then again through sheer luck of the nature of contact, lesbians are like on the lowest of the danger lists with almost any disease except a couple of them.

I've been with a few who said that barebacking was so hot and should be done all the time.
I have a friend who is like this. I'm always lecturing him like a mother, especially after he found out some guy he slept with 6 months prior, MULTIPLE TIMES, was infected with aids. So not only did he put himself in danger, he also put his current boyfriend in the same position. Thankfully, the tests came back negative (how he managed to escape it is beyond me), but the 2 of them had the worst couple of weeks while waiting for the results. But when I asked him if he'd do the whole barebacking thing again, he said he would, that's it's worth the risk.

I think that's the most fucked up thing in the world, to have such a relaxed attitude about such a thing. But, nothing I say will ever change his mind.

But I've heard that the gay porn industry is riddled with people with HIV. My housemates love the bareback porn, or, well, just gay porn in general, and once when they had it on, they were pointing out the ones who apparently had aids. These guys were fucking people who I'm guessing weren't infected, and the whole situation was doing my head in.

There'd be no.. reward.. so to speak.  :buck2:

Let's say that you and a guy/girl were in a committed relationship and you trusted each other, etc. i.e., neither you or your partner had any STIs, isn't it safe to have unprotected sex? Well, unless you're a straight couple and don't want a baby. I've heard people say that even if you're in a monogamous relationship, to use a condom.

I was asking my friend about the bug parties, because I really just couldn't understand why somebody would go out to deliberately infect themselves with HIV.
His explanation was pretty much the same as it is on that link. They just want to get it out of the way so they don't have to worry about catching it anymore.

The stupidity involved in that kind of thinking is just mind blowing

i actually heard about it from a friend of mine with HIV.  he apparently was hosting one, and only staved off my rant by linking me to a similar article.  actually he got it in the first place from his own relationship after narrowly avoiding it in his former one.  long story, but makes you wonder how in the hell, you know?

i don't think anything surprises me anymore, actually.

Fo serious. I'd do it with someone I truly truly love and trust, though not with someone I've been with for 6 months. I'm talking about my fucking husband that I've been married to for the passed couple of years. And it's not a matter of just going at it. You gotta clean that shit with a hose, and some fucking bleach or whatever you have lying around, you know?

What I'm thinking is that, if a guy doesn't want to worry about HIV, he must be into barebacking. Is he going to then try and pressure any future lovers who don't want HIV into barebacking, too?

I can't say I've ever seen examples of barebacking in straight porn (durr) but have any of you guys? Do you think it's fair for a porn producer or whatever to ask for a girl to risk pregnancy for the sake of a scene? I don't and I don't think you guys will either.
There are plenty of contraceptives (Pills, IUDs etc) that would mean the girl wouldn't be risking pregnancy, but I still think guys should wear condoms regardless of other contraceptives, just in case they fail, or more likely because of STI's, as has already been mentioned. I guess its about marketing to what people like, though. They probably get paid more for it.

EDIT: apparently there are also dating services that only sign HIV positive people.

well, they either would try to talk them into it, i would assume, or just not tell them that they are positive.  i know plenty of guys who have done that, too.
