I don’t know exactly how it’s done but you would use an Omnidirectional camera. You then need to have an applet that lets people navigate the array. The only other way of doing it involves stitching but I’m tempted to rule that out as being too computationally intensive.

Hi there.

I take several images and stitch them together.  I use a regular digital camera with a wide angle lens.  The latter, of course, reduces the number of images required for a full 360.  Here I took 4 images ca. 90 degrees apart.  The camera was attached to a monopod which I rotated above my head, using a shutter release cable to take the pictures.
