I didnt want to start a new thread, so sorry if this is in the wrong place...

So, I'm flying to Sydney this weekend. I dont really know anyone there, going for a concert, and then onto Melbourne where i'll see Amanda. I'm thinking of going to Taronga Zoo this Sunday, then hitting a few bars that night.

Any recommendations?

Or will any of you be out and about on Sunday...maybe I can crash a drinking session with some of your friends... :P

haha i know that sounds weird! But you only live once

Taronga is crazy expensive but I guess it's something you should see. If you want music Oxford Art Factory has Sunday shows and The Annandale Hotel, otherwise hit up Newtown for awesome food and some good bars, or Oxford St (darlinghurst) and kings cross are my recommendations.

If I decide to go out I'll come on here and we'll swap details but I work on Mondays so it's not likely to be a late one.

Mette: maybe plan to go to SLAM rally because AFP could go... Well it would be awesome if she did.

http://www.slamrally.org/

Musicians and music lovers rallying to save live music in victoria from bastard politicians imposing ridiculous laws that have forced the closure of live music venues in Melbourne.

Amanda wrote this for the site;

“Live music has to be nurtured at ALL levels…it’s a community umbrella under which all people gather together. The ability for smaller musicians – especially nowadays with the death of the recorded industry – to make money and grow their audiences in small clubs and bars is CRUCIAL. You can eat in a restaurant without security guards, right? Don’t kill the food that feeds the soul!”

Thanks! I wish I could go to that, it looks really awesome. Unfortunately it's the same night as Paramore is playing their sidewave show :(

Thanks a bunch insignifikunt, I appreciate it.

I was hoping to check out the Annandale Hotel, and head to Haymarket or Newtown after the zoo. No idea where any of these places are, but i'll look it all before I go. I'm staying in Surrey Hills. Going to a gig at the Hordern on Monday night.

cant fucking wait!

Mette, a ninja show in Melbourne on the 23rd or 24th would be rad!
