Money, Money, Money on the internet?
« on: December 19, 2009, 02:41:13 PM »

I’ve noticed a couple of people saying that they need money and have to sell things so I thought I’d post this.

Anyone know of any other straightforward money generating things on the Internet that you can vouch for? I know there are paid online surveys and cashback sites but not sure what else there might be.

i stumbled across this site called Yuwie.com has anyone else heard of this site?

i've only been on it for a month so i don't know if i'm actually making money yet or not, but SUPPOSEDLY you get paid every time someone looks at your profile... it's like myspace basically...  it tracks your pageviews and so far this month i already have 88 page views (thats in 5 days).... again, it doesn't really explain how MUCH you get every time someone looks at your page... but It says you get paid on the 16th of the month or something so i'll find out soon enough...

however, i guess a lot of sites consider it spam (like facebook) because they won't even let you post a link to the site... i think that's probably because if you get other people to sign up, you get money.. so people probably flood other sites with links and stuff...

anyway, i'm not going to do that. i'm just mentioning this because of this thread.

But if you guys want to check it out, and do decide to sign up, please use me as a referral. Here's the link with my referral number:

I've not heard of it but it seems interesting. + I'll use the referral if I decide to do it.
I'd like to find out a bit more before I do though.

Edit: still trying to figure it out what it takes to get paid.

i looked more into it because i was curious too... i think the more people you have referred, the more money you make... like you don't make much for people looking at your own profile, but if you refer someone else, you make more when people look at THEIR profile since you referred them...

so the key is getting other people to sign up under YOUR name... i guess

Ah. In that case it’s a Multi-level-marketing thing. I’m not sure that I could realistically get people interested in that. As with pyramid schemes, there is a tipping point that makes it less worthwhile for later members. When people realise that, they start to puzzle over the math and get cynical. I expect friends will say that for the amount of money, it’s not worth the effort. The thing is - it might be worth the effort if it is still early enough, but then there's the guilt of thinking that someone down the line is essentially signing up to get nothing. I’ll still bear it in mind but I’ll pitch it to some friends first to see what they think. Perhaps there is nothing to feel bad about as long as people know that they might not get as much as they expected.

yeah.. that's pretty much what it is... i guess if you know where to find people that would sign up under you without much convincing, then it's not hard.. you don't have to do much. but unfortunately, all the places where people like that would sing up, they don't let you post the name of the site because they know everyone spams with it... lol... like myspace.

oh well...

I don't even bother with such things, it'd be nice to find a way to make money on the internet, but it seems to me like 99% of that shit is scams or shit that will spam you or shit that will give you a virus.

Do you recommend them?

Eh, I get the Harris Poll surveys, but they only pay 'token' money redeemable
from their 'catalog'.  (That's how I can afford The Economist...)  Dunno about
any cash-paying surveys, but I can't imagine that any of them pay more than
a buck or two, and they're far more likely to be scams.

I've been reading some really good reviews for some of the survey sites, but I'm really curious to see if anyone here has used them.
