How was your holiday season?
« on: December 27, 2009, 12:06:01 PM »

I had a pretty alright time, I'm pretty sure this was the first christmas I spent entirely at home. Granted I went to family things Christmas eve and then the 26th, but still, it was a good time. My brothers sort of ruined christmas for my mom though, cause they both managed to have some prior obligation even though we'd been planning all month. Oh well, they're dicks. I guess now I'll share my spoils..
From my girlfriend Kasey I got Watchmen, Coraline and The Family Guy:Star Wars 2 set DVDs. Legend Of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the Gameboy Advance and Breath of Fire III for the PSP along with a promise for a PSP.Oh and a super Amazing coat that I wanted and will love forever

me in my amazing coat in the middle
From her sister I got The Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal 2-in-1 DVD. From my roomate Mike, I got a pretty nice pair of jeans with studs outling the pockets. From my mom I got a shovel and $65 for Rue21 (that's a clothes store for those of you who don't have it). And I got a collective $150 from my grandparents I think. Ja. So how was your guys holiday season? What'd you get?

I got computer funding, DVDs, a piercing, gift cards, coffee, endless candy that I cannot actually eat, jeans that actually look good (which is rare for me), an stuffed animals because I'm five.
And my birthday is tomorrow, so even more crap is on its way.

Let me know how the new Family Guy Star Wars thing is; I got it for my roommate and neither of us have seen it yet.

It's good, I'm a huge fan of both so it's really funny. The only thing that annoys me is the way that they overuse the joke of storm troopers or random lowly workers on the deathstar doing ordinary things (like complaining that they don't have a rail on a platform). It's still good though.

It's my birthday soon too. 2 weeks from now. I'm excited, here's hoping for lots of records and movies! Happy Birthday to you!

Matty: Sweeeet I look forward to watching it then.  And happy birthday to you too.
And speaking of records, I have just used up my FYE gift card buying LPs of London Calling and Dark Side of the Moon.

Matty, your coat is awesome.

I had a lovely holiday.

My work people spoil me. From them I got a travel blanket, a counter-top composter bucket, a couple of work friendly t-shirts, some pretty soaps, a nice blank drawing book and a very soft scarf and gloves. And a check in a card from my male boss because he gifts like a real man ;D

On christmas, my dad, his fiancee, my sister and I made pancakes and potatoes and hot chocolate, and then we stuck the pizzelle iron in the fire and whipped up a makeshift batter (no internet at the farm house means no recipe at hand, haha) and worked to get the perfect pizzelle. We joked about how many Pollocks it takes to make a good pizzelle. Apparently the answer is four. Then we all waltzed with one another. It was a lot of fun.

Later there was the gathering at my aunt's with food and scrabble, and we watched Up.

From other people I got mostly useful things, but also a couple of things I won't use. I do appreciate the love behind the giving of them.

I also got a ring from my son because he thinks I'm pretty :) He picked it out himself from the Santa's Workshop at school.

And my sister got me a snuggie. With ironic sentiments.

Happy birthday to all you capricorns! My birthday is this week, too!

Yay for coats. :)

Currently, I'm wearing a comfy pair of slippers I got from my parents.

I also received a new digital camera, (500) Days of Summer on DVD, and a slew of practical gifts such as socks and Bath & Bodyworks goods.

Plus:

The bag was from my boyfriend's parents, the journal/sketchbook set was from my boyfriend (he wrote a very sweet message inside the journal).

Overall, it was a very nice time. I've never spent the holidays with someone else ... so this was a first for me.

That is indeed an amazing coat.

I got a digital camera a new mobile phone and a bunch of red wine.

Ooh, that's the same sketchbook my friend gave me! I love the color and the birds on it.

Spending holidays with other people's families feels weird. I did it a few years back with my ex's family. Glad it went okay for you :)

I'm afraid this is the first time I can remember wishing it all just didn't happen. Bleah. I'm not even sure what precisely constitutes the "Holiday Season" - over here the phrase suggests people lying on beaches in July.
