Lupa, 6th & I St Synagogue is just down New York Ave.  they'll hop on 295 and be in Baltimore in an hour.  Looks like there's no opening act for DC, and besides, there's an early emo show at the Ram's Head Live! in Baltimore the same night.  Now you know the Dolls have made it to the top, they're finally the ones shoving the early show crowd out the doors!

Mikki I'm definitely going to be at Baltimore and Philly, probably DC, and maybe Durham, NC.  I'm sure there will be roll calls starting up soon.

So any possibilities that the New Year's Eve show can go until 7 in the morn'?  I'm trying to limit the number of hours my friends and I have to drunkenly wander the streets of NYC and risk getting attacked by other drunken Times Sq. people before catching a train back to where I'm from the next day.

Seriously though, has anyone gone to a DD New Year's show and could let me know what time approx. it ended?
(I know, I know, it'll be different, but I just want to get a sense)

Agreed, because if you don't make the 1.40 train back to NJ, you're stranded until after 5 am...
I went into NYC last year for New Year's and it was a lot of fun, but I ended up sitting around Penn Station for a few hours for a train. As long as you have people to hang out with, it's ok. Just don't fall asleep!

Maybe we should organize a train station DD after-party?  *grin*

Amtrak has late night trains. You would have to plan in advance, and it's more expensive than NJ transit, but it's also a MUCH nicer train. Just a thought. :)

Hmm.  I just might do this.  I think there is one train I could take, but it might mean leaving a little early depending on the end time of the concert.  I talked to my older brother and he wasn't too fond of the idea of two college-aged girls wandering around NYC on New Year's until sunrise, which is probably warranted concern.

Or -- let's party in until 6 in the morn' in the ballroom.  Please?  I'll provide really toxic cheap vodka in water bottles.  Or water in water bottles, depending on your tastes.

Had they have extended "beyond" to England, I'd be happy. I'd also be brigading and I'd be quite happy for you guys too.
Congratulations to the lucky ones.
Okay, I need sleep.
Today wasn't a good day.

no, probably not, because it's a sunday night.  I might fly down for the NC show just because I want to see Two Ton Boa.  They're insane.

On the subject of going to multiple shows, I considered going to the Chicago show too, but time and money restrictions just won't allow for it. But, if they weren't playing St. Louis or anywhere closer to where I am, I'd be heading up there, for sure.

It's going to be a fantastic show. The last couple of days, I've been checking out as much stuff as I can on Two Ton Boa and I must say that I'm very impressed. Like Paco said, they look to be pretty insane, in a good way. I've also been looking up lots of sound and video clips of Meow Meow too and....WOW!!! Very cool stuff indeed! It's defiantly going to be an amazing night! I can't wait!!!

Could this be more or less a farewell tour for the Dresden Dolls?

I don't think so. Both of them have their projects they're working on, and they need time to play. I mean, I suppose this could be the end. You never know. But, I'm sure they'll press on for their own reasons.

Looks like there's no opening act for DC,

I'm pretty sure MM will be opening both DC and Baltimore, per the calendar page. Lumi definitely won't make it, per Sxip himself. Time constraints due to the tight schedule. :( I was kind of hoping MM would do DC and Lumi would do Baltimore since there'd be more time to clear the stage. Alas, t'is not the case.

I just hope the show doesn't get canceled! The reason a lot of bands don't play DC and Baltimore on the same tour is because ticket sales tend to get cannibalized in one city (usually Baltimore) or the other. Maybe the early/late deal will help. In any event, I'm excited about the synagogue show. A friend went to see Devendra Banhart there last month. He said it was quite special.
