So anyone want to help me out with making a decision of Boston vs. NYC?  (Assuming I can't do both, which is what is most likely)

This is what I have so far --

NYC: (+++++) freakin New Year's Eve show, (-) cost of ticket, (-) cost of train, (-) maybe having to leave early b/c of train, (-) wandering around NYC during New Year's trying to catch or wait for train and possibly being swarmed by drunken people while possibly drunken

Boston: (+) no train, (+) not crazy New Year's, (+) hometown loving, (+) lesser cost of ticket, (---) not New Year's show, (-) further away

By your +/-s, they both scored 1. I vote Boston.

NYE has me!

In sum, you guys are totally unhelpful.  *grin*  Who has gone to a New Year's show and can tell me whether I'm giving too many/too little plusses there?

Look at it this way... how many chances will you have to see the Dolls on New Year's?

I know, I know, and this is why I'm considering the NYC show at all.  But the craziness of having to catch a train at 3 AM while New York is crazy may stop me from going in the end.

Argh.  I'm so indecisive on such things.

hence your username?

though, if I had the choice, I would probably try to hit up the Boston show, because it's Boston, their launching pad/home and gigs at "home" just have completely different lives, even if it's the exact same set list as the night before....

i suspect there are any number of people who would
hang out with you after the show until you get on the train

hasn't someone already mentioned an after-party in penn central?

The NY show in SD didn't last too long past midnight. But the dolls weren't the headliners.

This calls for another "I'm so going to make it out there" (and never actually do) moment.

I'll definitely be up for drinking coffee and hanging out under the big departure board!

there might be a semi-official after-party somewhere
there was after True Colors @ Radio City Music Hall in NYC

even so, i be happy to hang out in Penn Station afterwards
if that gets some of you to come to the concert
there is even some neat public art, i could show people,
{at least, i think it's neat ; - }

Fuck you all, you are making this more difficult than it was before.  I mean, love you all, which is why it is difficult.

I think there is only one way to resolve this: *summoning my inner Amanda Palmer*

WWAPD?

*I shall let you know in a few days.  And also whether I still have eyebrows or not in the aftermath.

Oh, are you considering coming?  That would be exciting... we could be in the same general vicinity and hide from each other again.

What sucks is trying to decide what to do..

I'm old enough, responsible and capable of getting myself where I need to be for all the shows
but not old enough to just to go without clearing it past my parents.
and the holidays make it super hard to get everywhere because my family lives in pittsburgh.. where as living in philly puts me at a good cornerstone...

I have people I could stay with in all the towns but.. my parents probably wouldnt approve..

its annoying, i nearly wish i was the type of person that could guilt-freely disregard my parents and do as I please

If it wasnt the holidays and my last year home my mom would be cool enough to take me.. but that kills the part of me wanting to do it by myself and bunk with people..
): ohhh the conflicts of youth.
I need a bit of time to plan all this out (:
