The Dresden Dolls will be touring this winter and it will be the last time for quite a while! The dates which have been posted are the entirety of the tour -- unfortunately for some (we're looking at you Texas and California), that means if you don't get tickets to the dates which have been posted, you won't be able to see DD.

"We, The Dresden Dolls, are hitting the road this winter and we want to see your face out there. We want you to bring as much ruckus and muster as much eye-bulging, white-knuckled enthusiasm as you can possible squeeze from every fiber of your shivering fists and chap-lined lips this December and January. I bought tickets to Chicago today, anyone else forced to buy two-day shipping for 10 bucks? That was kind of, well, was, no kind of, lame. But- I couldn't not buy tickets today, for fear of not getting two tickets later.

I had a post about this before and then I took it off because... you know what, I think I got front row seats.

For us Chicagoans, The Vic doesn't have seats, so there's really no point.  I'll just be waiting for Ticketmaster, to see if they can turn a $23.50 ticket into something less than $37.  It was the same deal last time they played the Vic, although I'm not sure if the shipping charge was quite that much.  Either way, it seems like baselineticketing is almost pointless if the venue doesn't offer a willcall option.

On the plus side, at least The Vic doesn't have seats!  I don't know if I could tolerate a Dresden Dolls show with assigned seating.

The Vic is nice. However, I hope the sound is better than it was when I saw Built to Spill there over the summer. Pppsst Amanda, you need front fills at the Vic. I was front row for BtS, because I don't do concerts not in the front. That's just the way it is. I am very good at staking my spot in line hourrrrrrrrrrrrs before doors. Though Jan 5 it's going to be fucking cold. I'm sure. Ah well. Bundle up. There's a parking garage right across the street from the Vic. It's a nice place, just the front row didn't have the greatest sound, at least at front and center. Couldn't hear Doug's voice the entire show. Luckily I know BtS so well that I knew what they were playing because I could definitely hear the instruments. Though, with the Dolls it should be easier because there's no bass guitar... well... no  huge guitar amp stacks anyway.

1, does anyone know if there are going to be kick ass tour posters (specifically one for St. Louis) for this upcoming tour?  If there will indeed be such things, will they be available beforehand or just at the shows?  Sorry if this has already been discussed but I looked around and couldn't find shit about it.
