Macbook won't play dvd.
« on: January 01, 2010, 06:04:11 PM »

This is probably the wrong place, but i trust someone to move it if it is.

So, you people are all pretty smart, and some of you have use macs. Can anyone tell me why my macbook pro won't play a region 0 dvd? It'll play region 1, but not 0. I thought region 0 was universal, and would play in anything. I will love someone forever if they know how to make this work. If not, I'm out $50.

I know that I can flash the firmware of the dvd drive, but that voids your warranty and I'm really scared to try.

- Try playing it on a Table Top DVD player.

- Try using another software, like Video Lan. (www.videolan.org)

I assembled this team for purposes of a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen thing, but in reading this thread it occurs to me they're all highly bangable. Yeah, even Spider Jerusalem.
