Was there something you hoped to garner through this revival or merely to point out my poor grammar?

I don't think I pointed out your poor grammar at all. Working graveyard shift means I do a LOT of forum reading.

You're cheese; don't be a weenie.

&tracee - It's not you, it's the whole internet.  It's very much a he-who-is-without-sin situation,
especially in a setting as informal as the Shadowbox - Most users don't bother to spell-check, much
less grammar-and-punctuation-check, because we're just chatting. Nobody's grading for that stuff.
(Brittany used to, but she's too busy these days  ;D )

Oh, and did I mention the remarkable number of non-native English speakers here?  When my command of
Spanish, Finnish, Romanian, Dutch, Italian, German, Portugese, etc (I know I've missed someone) begins
to approach my fellow Boxers' English fluency, I might be in a place to comment...

Tone doesn't come through the internet, if he had been correcting my grammar, I didn't really mind, I was more curious as to if there was more too it.

I work graveyard as well, but I usually end up just getting worse in grammar, not better. So I commend your ability to still know how to use a ; after a shift.

Semicolons are underrated.

So true, unfortunately. Teachers didn't even bother teaching them to us. :'(

Turkish, French (hmmm, Cee might speak French), & we're still missing a few.

and it's worth noting, that English has quite a few dialects, even written.

have fun, enjoy the chat, and ignore the grammar police
(unless they are sweet and smart like Brittany,
than treat them nice and take it in stride

I just happened to see this thread while I was going through some old essays to try and remember how I'm meant to do footnotes and was struck by just how fucking obsessively I used semicolons in essays. I mean really, every other sentence has one xD They makes you sound smarterer.

With the whole grammar talk and such, I don't really mind as long as the text is understandable enough, I'd hate reading something that was

i dun no, sumtin liek dis as ppl just dn' botter, u just kant getit.

With typos, common misspellings and abbreviations that are just making it more difficult to understand what the person is actually trying to say.
