I missed the premiere tonight because I'm on Spring Break and the place I'm staying at doesn't have BBC America. I keep seeing things about how good it was. I'm so excited to watch it

http://io9.com/confirmed-david-tennant-and-billie-piper-will-return-f-463886055

Far more excited about John Hurt being in it to be honest. I for one am fine with Tennant returning, but I found his relationship with Rose to be interminably smug, especially by the third minute of New Earth. Still, I've still the Who geek pleasure of seeing an Old Doctor returning. Would love to see the Lonely God Tennant shown Matt Smith's Doctor, the one who can make Daleks quiver, armies run away and the TARDIS doors open with a click of his finger bumble into a bookcase and such. That would be fun.

Cracking episode to return on. Delighted to see the return of SPOILER and Clara is excellent. The story actually fit within the forty-five minute running time, had some very clever moments (the aeroplane bit for example) and an excellent start to the new series and new arc. The gag about St. John's bells and Earl's Court were my favourites in particular. It looked better than Who has since the last series, but the sound mix was way, way off. The music was far too loud in some places. Good romp. Next week's looks appallingly dull from the look of the trailer, but I'll watch anyway. I have done since 1993, I'm not stopping now.

SPECULATIOn: Woman who told Clara at the desk - definitely River right?

After a bit of a squiffy second episode, this week's Cold War was a cracking episode. Love the Ice Warrior's return, and it was basically Doctor Who does Alien on a Submarine. And it had David Warner.

David Warner.

David. Warner.

I just realized yesterday that Matt Smith shaved his head. I saw a picture of him and it definitely took me off guard

Sad to see him go, but it's a good time to get out. The show is probably at it's peak popularity and IMHO has gone downhill in quality. He's a great Doctor.

It's been going downhill since Moffat took over as showrunner. He's more interested in breaking into the US market than making a decent show.

As an American, I must defend our Whovian honor and say don't blame us! I can't stand it either. As my husband just said, "I don't care who the new Doctor is, the showrunner needs to regenerate".

That's the thing that gets to me the most. Americans loved the show anyway. They didn't need the EXPLOSIONS! and over the top CGI. Moffat just assumed that they did and forgot that Doctor Who isn't about special effects, it's about the stories.

I totally agree with this. The stories beat explosions any day. And I really think a new showrunner would be a very good call
