rather then scrolling down, as though I shouldn't be typing so much! Is this just me or do other people also get it? Am I making sense? It is annoying as hell as I can't see what I am typing and the jumping kills my eyes.

    • Facebook, website, what's the dif?

The only screen-width issue I've ever experienced is with large images,
which show up partially, with a scroll-bar all the way at the bottom of
the picture where ya frequently can't see it (until you scroll down anyway).

Text always wraps, in my experience.

That doesn't help a bit, does it?

you're asking about typing into a text entry box,
to post?

just a Quick Reply box?
Or all of them?

Text entry boxes do scroll down as you type.
There is a scroll bar on the left,
that you can use to scroll back up.

I have the scroll bar appear but it always brings the scroll bar back up to the middle of where it could scroll so for instance when I quote you I can't see what I am typing. It happens in the text box when I hit the reply button.

It doesn't help you're right but your contribution nevertheless always seems worthwhile.

but when you hit the reply button,
the page with the text entry box should disappear
(along with the text entry box)
and you should go back to the thread display page.

Ok I have just tried this on the comp at work and it isn't doing it, so it must be my computer... I was wondering whether it was a forum issue, but it's my computer only. I'll check my computer out and see what's happening from my end... cheers for your help.

might be as simple as emptying the caches on your browser.

might be a bug in an underlying javascript engine
(some browsers don't have their own)

might be something else

keep up posted?!?

Yeah that's it. I didn't have time to check it last night but will see if I can fix it tonight... but yeah, that's it.

It does it on mine too (I think). The writing carries on outside the box. I just press return and backspace and then it seems to go ok. It doesn’t bother me but in my case I don’t have the stamina for non-stop writing. The glitch usually becomes an excuse for a break or a reread.

also Apple's Safari, Opera, Lynx, and others.

Firefox, Chrome, and Opera have versions that run on most computers that can be downloaded (at your own risk, though if you get it from the official site, it's tiny).
e.g. Google 'download firefox'.

In a wider context, a computer program used to look at something,
e.g. a file browser. a process browser, ....

In a different context, a word would be comics (hi Cee! ; - ) attempt to make jokes with.

Ok so it does it in my Internet Explorer (latest version I think) and is still doing it but I don't have that problem in Firefox.

I've had this problem too, but it depends on what computer I'm using, also, probably whether I'm using IE or Firefox. Hadn't really thought about it, but I don't think I've had that problem since I switched to Firefox.

Mine does it. I'm sure it never used to but then I haven't been around far a gadzillion years. I have no desire to install a new browser - that'd be like moving house because the rain comes in through the roof. Oh, right, I did that already....

If I find a work around I'll post it here. I like a challenge.

I hate other browsers though... Safari's all weird and there aren't tabs and eeeeeeeweuhgfdddas.

Is there a way to fix it in IE?
