It's exam season. Come on a wig out.

I cried yesterday over my forthcoming philosophy exam, and I physically cannot write fast enough to pass the damn thing. URGH.

i'm finished with all of my exams, had the last one on june 1st. i'm sort of starting to freak out though, because on thursday i'll get THE phone call telling me whether i have graduated or not. i'm allowed to retake one exam (out of seven), but if i've failed more than one exam i won't graduate. which would really, really suck. of course.

but i'm trying to stay positive, so yeah, i'm gonna graduate :P

I did the same two nights ago over my maths exam.

I'm doing my Junior Cert at the moment, which are the state exams everyone has to in Third Year (when your in or around 15). They mean fuck all really, but still :/

And the worst of it is they're getting rid of them next year.

I had my last exam on Monday but cried several times during study leave  :embarassed: I was sitting Highers which are what they base Scottish uni entrance on and what English unis look at for giving offers.

I thought my stress would be over for a while but I've just started 6th year classes on thursday and found out that due to the school fucking up with timetables, my advanced higher English and German classes are on at the same time. I'm going to have to try and do the work for German in study periods and occasionally skip English to go to class. Oh, and I need As in both these subjects.

Scottish exams are really not fun. Half an hour is not a reasonable time to write a 2000 word essay in.

I'm sitting mid year exams for second year uni. I had an exam on Wednesday for anatomy and one on Friday for animal science and I think (I hope) they went well. Now I have two more to go, genetics on Tuesday and Physiology on Thursday and then I will be free! I'm worried because the first two went alright and they can't all be that good.

I hope everything goes well for everyone!

I have my state exams (Regents) this coming week, and the week to follow. I have History up first, and I'm confidant that I'll pass with a nice grade. I'm shooting for a perfect score, but my teacher keeps telling me that it's extremely difficult, even for AP students (even though I'm not in AP this year, but will be going next year). I'm not overly confidant, but I don't think it will be super hard for me, at least compared to other kids. I think I'll do well on my Spanish one too, being I've been getting 90's on my practice regents. And Biology, I'll probably get a good grade as well.

The only one I'm a bit worried for is math. I keep forgetting how to do certain formulas, and I'm probably going to end up making flash cards for the bus ride in. I don't have a terribly strong feeling that I'll fail it, but I am nervous for getting a really shit grade. And GOD am I hoping the proof won't be monstrous... Which reminds me that I should ask my teacher how to go over those proofs where you go backwards...

Oh, and I took my English exam already. I think I did fine on it. On to 11AP I go. :P

I've completed 1 out of my 4 uni exams for the first trimester. It wasn't too bad, except I wasn't sure I was going to finish it, ended up writing 11 pages, and I'm not sure how it was...

But I have accounting and FCOM on tuesday, which I'm kind of freaking about.

I have my first exam on Tuesday, in Integrated Systems Physiology, which happens to be the subject I failed the most in last year. However, this year I'm actually passing so far, yayyyy. Calculated that I don't actually have to pass the exam to pass the course so I'm feeling good about that, but I'm still going to do my best. Have another exam on Wednesday, which I think I'll be fine with.
What I'm worried about is my exam on the 21st. It's a horrible subject and I have to pass it because it's a prerequisite for next semester and I hate it so incredibly much, my brain doesn't like it, I certainly don't like it, and I'm scared :(

I sympathise with all you guys!

Although, I don't have any more formal exams (PhD thesis defence in 3 years not counting), in about two months (when I get to Brisbane and to my new university), I'm going to get hauled over the coals to find out exactly what I know. As a result, I'm studying like a madman...

i'm in my second year BA Graphic design, i've been studying for three weeks already.

i defended my end project, had an exam in arts history, arts philosophy, communication theory, creative techniques, and psychology & perception.
arts history, philosophy and creative techniques went well. i'm not sure about communication theory and psychology & perception went fabulous.

on tuesday i have to take "History & topicality (not sure about this word) of graphic design", wednesday i have my typography exam, thursday i have to defend my "Personal Topicality Studies" (still not sure about the word topicality, ha) and on friday i have my last exam "image analysis".

i'm kind of sick of studying...

Good old English A2s for me (the ones that get you into uni), starting tomorrow  >:(

Because most of my courses are in modules I've practically got the grades I need on the modules I've already done without even taking these ones, but I'm still really worried about them, I have no idea why :-\

Good luck to all you guys! O0

Oh my God! Look at the stress on this board - only a day-old thread and already there's this much wigging out. I'm very proud xD

I have converted my front room into a revision lair. I've moved the kettle, teabags, mug, spoon and a bowl for old teabags in there, and filled the kettle up to full. Every time I empty it, which is about 7 cups btw, I have a break. I also have mini-breaks when there's an awesome battle on whichever Lord of the Rings movie I'm watching at the time xD Although I got to 3am today and failed completely to go back to the revision after Helm's Deep - I was way too excited xD

It's working well, actually, I think because it's exactly how my brain works - in huge stretches with tiny flickers of attention, mostly late at night xD I only wish we could choose what time of day to sit our exams, it'd be midnight every time for me xD

Good luck to everyone!

Thank G-d I don't have them anymore, try taking exams on 2 neuro suppressants both of which have side effects of word hunting and short term memory loss.

I had to study for simple tests about 8-10 hours to get it stored in my long term memory on subjects I would've been able to take the test without even looking at the book before.

If anyone has to do lots of papers look into speech recognition, I had to due to my wrists (same cause for the meds) but found out how fast it is.  You can bust out pages of text in no time, just write up an outline and go.

Also to the graphic design major, switch to fine arts  O0, fewer tests and you can spend more time developing a style.  A lot of the graphic designers I know who are doing well did fine arts, those who studied graphic design for the most part know the programs but the work is much more standard.

I woke up at 5am today. I don't have to go to school until 8.30 - been revising a tad, but also dealing with the glorious back pain the Big Man Upstairs has seen fit to dole out on me on this momentous day. Philosophy exam in five hours and fifty minutes, and I have a Cura-Heat patch on the middle of my back while the lower half is slathered in Ibuprofen gel. Just what you want when you're facing two hours sitting on a hard chair. URGH.

My philosophy exam was aaace xD I don't think it was A-standard, but I only need three Bs to get into Queen's Belfast so I'm still epically happy. The questions that came up were all ones that I could answer pretty happily, and there was one about miracles which I was pretty much praying for xD Am well pleased.

Sadly, over the day my back has worsened despite my sitting up straight and trying to be good to it, and I'm now in a really rather lot of pain and facing another exam tomorrow afternoon. I had to cancel working tonight because of it, which I hate. But then, I can hardly stand, let alone lug books about a library.

Are all of you guys in college or are some still in high school?  And how long does your school year extend (don't know where all of you are), because all of my friends an I finished our semesters by May (unless these are summer courses).  Just curious because it seems so late to be taking exams.  Anyway, good luck to all of you!

Our high school year runs from 1st of September, to the end of June.

My university year runs from the end of September, to half June. Next year will run from the end of October to half June. Because I have to do a one month internship during summer (as part of the education we're getting), we get an extra month of 'vacation'.

Schoolyears here differ from school to school, though.

Today I have my "History and Topicality of Graphic Design" exam. It SHOULD go well.

I can't wait till friday, we'll have our last exam, and we'll have a class barbecue at our main professor's place, because she luuuuuvs us as a group (seriously, she always tells us we're the best and nicest group she's had in years and maybe even since forever)!

I'm at secondary school, but in what we call over here (and rightly xD) college, meaning I'm doing my A Levels - they take two years, I'm in my second. You do your GCSEs at the end of secondary, and then college isn't compulsory but you need A Levels to get into university. Our year started on 7th September, and it finishes... Ah, depends what you mean by "finishes" and what year you're in. Before GCSE your summer holidays start 23rd July. The GCSE students at my school are off now until ater their exams, with nothing to come in for except revision sessions. I imagine their exams finish sometime around the end of June. We have to come in to lessons until we've had the exam in it - they don't trust us with study leave xD They do strust the year below, though, which is a bit of a bitch, so they're not in either >:(

Well, that was rather overly comprehensive.

I've got English Lit this afternoon, and slept instead of revising. Wish me luck, because I suspect I'll need it xD

No study leave?! You poor people...I've just had two whole weeks with no exams on study leave :D and the GCSE lot have been off for the best part of a month now!

Good luck (even if you're probably already in the exam) :)

World History exam went well. The essays were really easy, but I feel like the second one wasn't well written at all.  :-\

Oh well. I think I did well on the rest, so that's all that matters.

Good luck, Mette. Don't be scared, it just stresses you more!

My typography exam went really really really well. I was an oral exam, with an hour to prepare. This morning we got to hear the the exam had been postponed for an hour and 15 minutes. Which would've meant i had to go in at 4, and I'd be finished by 5:15. I would've been home by 7 then, which is way way way too late for me. So I just went in when I was done revising, and they didn't mind, ha! So I got home half an hour ago :D yaaay!

So, the exam went well, the professor used the words: perfect, great and ended with "this was a really good exam". Then he gave me a home made chocolate muffin. Oh YES! I love my school/professors! :D

^ Thats awesome. Congrats  O0

I've finished my exams now! Yay! Did my exam on 2 and a half hours sleep. I don't think I did well at all but it would have been enough to pass. Plus everyone found it hard so hopefully it get scaled up. Now to catch up on some sleep.

Biology was simple. I finished with a good forty minutes to spare (I drew on my hands in the process).

Tomorrow is Geometry. I'm a bit nervous, but I made some flash cards with what I have trouble with, so I should hopefully be okay.

Oh, you poor thing Sarah! My heart goes out to you, it really does.

My school went bankrupt last year, so they couldn't afford to get more staff or pay my teacher to do the proper amount of lessons - she's head of RE and Philosophy, and teaches both subjects at A Level, GCSE and Year 9. Anyway, as a result we ended up only having three hours a week instead of five, the AS class got two instead of five and the other classes had cover staff almost every week. It was a fucking joke. As a result, we had to choose which parts of the syllabus to actually do because we physically didn't have time to do it all, but luckily our teacher isn't the cunt-face yours clearly is and she did two of four topics in detail and glanced over one and left another, which worked out alright in the end.

Yeah, she's actually a top chap, our Mrs Wray :) I'm terribly fond of her. Yours sounds like a total wankface though. We had all three of our hours together - that's how our college splits things up, into mornings of three hours and afternoons of two, and you do two lessons a day. I quite like it, tbh - it beats having to go on to a different subject when you've only just got your head round the one you're on. But so we had one hour of moral philosophy, one hour of Plato and one hour of philosophy of religion. Worked alright, I guess.

Last exam is tomorrow. I just finished studying... have to get up again at 6am, yay.
I had a few breakdowns today. My last exam should've been today, but some idiots in my class made them replace the exam of 2 weeks ago, to today, because they didn't think they'd have enough time to study for it. While me, and the majority of the class would've had more time to study for it, when it just stayed like it was. And that way, we would've been finished today. Boo.

Luckily, the boyfriend was here to take care of me. Oh well, here goes nothing, I guess.

But first I need to get some sleep!

I know :( But it's such a horrible subject. It's incredibly boring so it's hard to motivate myself to actually learn anything, and if I don't pass it I won't be able to do one of the subjects I need to take next semester, meaning I'll be a whole year late.
I better get back to studying... :(

My Geometry exam went all right today. I definitely think that I passed (especially because a friend of mine, who got very nice grades on her practice regents agreed with me on a lot of answers).
The only thing that I was mad about was the final, six-point question. All year, we were told it would be a proof. A scary proof with similar triangles or non-congruent angles or something like that. We spent the first entire quarter (ten weeks) on proofs alone.

The proof was a three point question and four steps.

I was infuriated.

And the six point question was SIMPLE ALGEBRA.ON A RHOMBUS.

Somebody smite me.  :'(

Aaaaaaaaah, after a month of studying and slavery, my exams are finally OVER!

Don't really know how today's exam went, I wrote 3 and a half pages about the first 3 questions, and about the last question, I could only write half a page. But it should be okay, I guess.

But it doesn't matter, 'cause THE SCHOOLYEAR IS OVER

I was meant to be revising, but I wrote poetry instead. Hopefully I'll be a famous poet if I fail all my exams, and then people will find this out and think it adorable rather than unresponsible.

Sooooo in 2 hours I have the most horrible exam in my life and I'm not sure I'm going to pass it. But right now I'm so sleepy considering it's 6.24am and I've had about 5 hours of sleep that I don't actually care anymore and if I have to redo it next year, I say, bring it on. My sister just told me if it happens, I need to make a sims neighborhood with all the different protein names and enzymes and crap like that and then have families with all the names in the cascade. It seems like a great idea because I can probably tell you the names and family links of my 600+ sims but I couldn't tell you much about mutated proteins in cancer if my life depended on it.

I'm such an awesome student.
Not.

I'M ALL DONE WITH EXAMS! HOORAY :D

My spanish exam was very simple. I felt bad, because my teacher was sick and literally was struggling to read us our listening passages. She had to take breaks in between. :(
And our writing tasks were easy as well. One was to write to a performer, and I just wrote to AFP (first thing to pop into my head). It was fun. xD

But I'm all done now. I'm a junior. Hurrah!

I was meant to have revision sessions in the subjects I have exams in tomorrow, but they go SO slow and look at sort of D, C, maybe B-grade stuff which isn't that useful to me. Instead, I spent the morning revising in my room and then......... watched Big Brother. DAMN YOU. Who the fuck decided that sunny weather, Big Brother and EXAMS were a good combination?!

Had my last exam last thursday. Now I have a professional bachelor in social education. And I don't know what the hell to do with it.

Oh well, on to Hollywood.

Oh my god, I totally forgot to tell you all - my last exam was on Thursday xD I've been pretty much at work since then though, and then on Monday, my first proper DAY OFF, I got sick :( Today I felt pretty rough and decided the only cure was a day in bed watching Firefly. Needless to say, I'm feeling much better now ;)

To be fair, I have the biggest non-job in the world - I was in the information centre at the weekend, and got too hot inside so I moved my chair outside instead. Oh yeah. I spent 8 hours each day sitting in the sun reading Brideshead Revisited ;) But it was still not proper holiday behaviour!

Results day here in Scotland  :'(

The postman came 30 seconds after I woke up. 4 As and a B (in history. Fuck history.) I should be happy but all Uni's I want to apply won't even consider less than 5 As at higher.

I was predicted an A though, so now more stress and waiting while I see if I can appeal to get my grade put up.

How I got an A in English (panic attack half way through exam), Biology (forgot to revise and got all my stuff stolen while I was sitting it) or Latin (2 hours sleep), I really don't know

Can I ask which universities you have applied for? I managed to get into Edinburgh Uni on 3 As, a B and a C at Higher, you've done well better than me so should be able to get into many really good places! This was about 4 years ago now though so some unis may be getting more harsh?

I've not applied yet but I've been looking at Edinburgh, Newcastle and (over-ambitiously) Oxford. The last time I checked they were asking for 5 As. What subject did you do at Edinburgh? I want to apply for English, which unfortunately seems to be really competitive. Hopefully it'll work out ok anyway :)

Awesome, I am about to start my 3rd year in English Literature. :D At the time that I applied I think I had pretty much what they asked for though I have heard that the expectations have gone up this year unfortunately. I think at that time it was 1 place for every 12 people who applied, I was lucky, and it's gone up every year. You should definitely give it a go anyway, I put down Edinburgh as a "yeah right, I'll never get in there" and was amazed to be accepted. You just never know, gotta give it a shot! (Just make sure to have some less prestigious unis for back up, I see too many people apply to Oxbridge, Durham, St Andrews etc and have all reject them and then they're without a place anywhere, that'd be a bugger.) It'd be cool if you got in, I could totally help you out with the course. :D

^^ Apply for somewhere a little lower. I mean, you get five choices, so it can't hurt to have one of those being easier to get into. Also, remember that it can still be a fucking good uni without demanding only As - I've ended up with two offers (got rejected from everywhere else!), one from Oxford and one from Queen's Belfast. Belfast are only asking for three Bs at A Level, but they are like the Irish Oxford xD
