^ Yarp. Flax doesn't work well with my systems (my skin actually went a bit blue when I ate a bunch) but I haven't heard anyone else have trouble with it.

Mali

it sounds as if you ate flax seeds (ground or whole),
you might be OK with just the oil

buttercup.

My mother has been a vegetarian for over 20 years, and now she's decided to start eating meat again. (organic)
Which I'm fine with, except she's now saying all meat replacements are bad and actually told me I "couldn't have" soy sausage while she has meat sausage.
Because Soy Is So Bad Now.
I had to argue the reasons out of her, because I wont be told what I'm not to eat without some logical argument to back it up.
She made some good points, but most of the damage should I already be done by now because I ate soy all throughout development.

Anyway, I'm just venting, because I feel very alone now. I'm the only vegetarian left in my whole family.
And it seems like every time someone changes they try to rope you in too. My mom has offered me meat three times already.

It's been eleven years, and unless I've raised it and slaughtered it myself, I'm not planning to eat meat.

Not surprising, as any people who are on specialized or modified dietary plans try to rope others in, especially if it makes them feel good about themselves.

It reminds me of the behavior of alcoholics, smokers, and druggies. Also girls who go to the bathroom and don't you need to go too? Plleasseee?

I view it more as an offshoot of the human need for social contact. Nobody wants to feel alone in what they're doing, whether that be food, alcohol, hobbies, etc.

Yeah I get that.
Since I've got that feeling now.
I'm not going to start handing out pamphlets for PETA or anything now, though.

People Eating Tasty Animals? Why ever not?  O0

All kidding aside, you would LOVE the vegan choices in Denver. My favorite restaurant, Watercourse is vegetarian/vegan only. Their Saitan wings taste better than actual buffalo wings to me and I actually LOVE meat.

Now if I only had a reason to go over there.
I'm starting to wwoof now, though, and maybe I could head that way.
Portland & Seattle blew me away with their options too. But they also blew my wallet away.

So I have to take fish oil now... :(

no,
you can take flax and borage oils instead

Do they have omega 3? Because my mumseykins said she had misgivings about possible metal stuff in fish oil, but there weren't any alternatives.

(I kinda wanted to have real sushi, so I might become pesci anyway...)
Flax does for sure, I know.

Flax seeds are the best vegetarian source.
but walnuts and hazelnuts have significant amounts too

I'm weary of flax oil even after what you said.
And I am allergic to tree nuts.

I take fish oil and I'm sad every time I do it.

Micoprotein is a really good substitute for soya and as fungi are a tad odd they are actually quite close to meat in the way they produce stuff

I am just finishing up a hummus and veggie on pita from the deli down the street.  Very tasty.

I have to point out though that I am NOT a vegetarian by any stretch of the imagination and have quite readily killed animals for meat in the past....I am however very concerened that one should know exactly what one is putting into one's digestive system..

It's good stuff but some people have a very bad reaction to it.

I can eat it but my mother only has to have a tiny bit of it and she gets violently ill. Not like an allergic reaction more like she has been poisoned.

Trick question: No matter how they're prepared, and how hungry you may be, tarantulas are NOT food
