US federal judge gives it the heave-ho:

While I think this is a fine decision, I have an observation.....

State voting laws have been (and still are, occasionally) declared unconstitutional because
they are said to conflict with Federal voting-rights laws.... Heck, state laws against racially-
mixed marriages were voided because of incompatibility with Federal statutes...

This Federal law is unconstitutional because it disagrees with state definitions of who
may marry.

Like I said, I agree with both sets of rulings, but I seem to detect an inconsistency here....
