UPDATE (via len tower): i hear the main fogg building (with the busch resigner) is closed for renovation. there's a "best-of" collection up across broadway at the sackler. neither len nor i have been - don't know if the tricycph is there or out-of-sight. good luck. report back here in the comments for us, if you go!

FOOD UPDATE (via the A.R.T.): grendel's den and UpStairs on the Square (both mentioned in the blog) are some of the official food-partners for you folks going to see the show. they'll each be doing special discounts/menus for ticket holders so be sure to mention it when you go...keep your eyes on this thread for additional details as we get 'em.

Oh how I wish I could go and take all of that in.

It sucks being trapped in Ohio, a place virtually ignored by AFP since the last time The Dresden Dolls toured, but at least we had some chances. I know there are many fans that may never get an AFP in their home town.

Reading about all of this is inspiring, not depressing. That is why I love the blog, the twitter and the partyontheinternet so much. I can at least get glimpses of the amazing things that happen around team AFP. VIVA INSPIRATION!!!

if you have extra time, i suggest both the MIT Museum,
and the List Visual Art Center @ MIT


if you like art museums, the Museum of Fine Arts,
and the Isabella Stewart Gardiner Museum are both
worth the time and are in Boston, a few blocks apart. 
the MFA has  a world class collection with
art from around the world

the Institute of Contemporary Art in South Boston is
an awesome and weird building

the courtyard which a pictured in her blog is not accessible - it's in the building being renovated.
but it and the whole collection are reasons to come back in a few years

my trip will be for my band's first boston gig (the bewitched on 9/18 @ the lily pad) playing with one of the late night cabaret acts, walter sickert & the army of broken toys! so coinciding with cabaret itself, this blog, and these great tips for visitors, is a very cool deal indeed.

I'm going to be in Boston/Cambridge the whole weekend 10/29 (due to the fact that the show coincides with the weekend my mom just so happens to be giving a speech in boston, yay!) so if anyone has any more suggestions for places to venture to during the day, I'd love to hear them. I've already been to most of the art museums I think and been to the a lot of the shopping areas... so maybe something besides that? Also, restaurant suggestions. I've been to a few in Boston and the only one I've ever been to in Cambridge was an Ethiopian one on Mass Ave. near Central Square. Though it was quite delicious.

My brother is a current grad student at Harvard so I'm thinking of maybe taking advantage of that to get him to take me to some super-secret students-only places... if such things exist... he probably wouldn't even know since he's rarely on campus and has never even been in the library there... oh well.

Yay tomorrow. Absolutely MUST play the Chessmaster (Murray Turnbull) on Harvard Square, then eat something fun from Veggie Planet, buy a random toy from that toy shop near Oberon, and then in... Mysterious Sept 7th announcement (re Halloween, perchance) may extra stoke up the crowd? I'll be the fat English twat in the Bitter Ruin T-shirt on a front table. Yay!
