How to End the Great Recession
www.nytimes.com

Robert Reich is brilliant.
The US and the world would be better off following his advice.

He doesn't mention that WWII and the immense amount of
US federal government deficit spending,
was the other part of the US's recovery from the Great Depression.

He also doesn't analyze the possibility that
the US's rich might take their wealth and leave the US totally.

He also doesn't consider the lack of an even playing field across
the world with regard to labor laws, environmental laws,
etc.

I've read a lot of articles claiming that they have the "real" reason why we are in so much trouble and many are valid.  There is not just one thing going on right now which makes it all the harder.

It is true that income is becoming more concentrated and that is causing problems but the cause for income becoming more concentrated needs to be discussed further.

A major reason for the income concentration is the massive shortage of people in the more technical professions.  Real wages for programmers, scientists and engineers have been increasing because advancing technology have moved the needs of the economy in that direction.  Think about it, as technology takes over simple jobs the need will move towards people who can work on those machines in some way...

India might have the best long term economic outlook in the world right now.  They are producing technical professionals faster than anyone on top of their large supply of cheap labor.
