tbh, i can't see how people can complain with no boston show.  its the dresden dolls!!!! im sure you can go out your ways to make it to another show

Thing is, if they had a show in say, London, us poor buggers in Scotland would probably still complain about it, admit it. :P

I can understand it being frustrating for those in Boston who can't make it up to NYC for whatever reason, and it being the homeland, I'm sure it feels so close yet so far. Not everyone can be pleased, in fact, some will be pissed off but it's the nature of the touring beast.
Yeah, I was thinking that. Speaking for me personally, London is a fucking inconvenient place to get to. Obviously not as inconvenient as coming from Scotland, but it takes me something like 3 hours on a train, involving multiple changes, and I'd probably have to find somewhere to stay in London, seeing as I'm unlikely to get a train home at midnight. Plus none of my friends are really into the Dolls, so I'd be doing it all alone.

But y'know what? I WOULD. That's partly why I'm more upset, is the fact that I actually was prepared to go the distance. But oh well, still happy for American people, hopefully more stuff will come up in the future... :)

I must admit with the rarity of DD shows now, I probably would try and make the effort to get down to London though I too do not know anyone who loves the Dolls enough to make the journey or anyone actually IN London so there's always problems to tackle. Would still try my hardest though!
im sure every dolls fan in scotland would all go and we could all chip in at a hotel. done

Soooooo

Before I spend a thousand bucks going to NYC for this show (which I will, I guess) is this like IT as far as the tour dates go?

I'd much rather see every show in CA for the same $$ and not have to fly to NY on a weekend from SF.  That flight sucks it.   I'd be stoked to see a Vegas, LA and SF set of shows.

I love that this is happening, I dislike that it's happening SO FAST and things are expensive and potentially incomplete waaaaaah.  Having 2 days to decide if I can blow this much $$$ to see a show is tough!

Awesome, that's our trip planned for the fictional gig, sorted. :D

Back on topic, and because I'm afraid of appearing bitter, congrats to everyone who lives any where near the planned gigs, know that your fellow European fans are green with envy right about now. :P

i should mention i'm not reaaaally complaining, more shocked.  yes, i'm sure they'll do something eventually, it's just very surprising that for the 10th reunion they're not advertising a boston show.  hell, halloween in boston meant the dolls for years and years.  those were some of the greatest shows.

obviously, i'm thrilled for the idea of a reunion, even if i can't make it.  but still...very surprising and not at all what i expected.

what the d.dolls do next,
after this tour,
is a little hard to predict

their doing europe and/or the west coast,
before or after amanda goes to oz is possible

it's not unlikely that there will be a few short tours a year.
though they both have very awesome solo careers going ...

we'll see

expected the unexpected

What len said. :P

I don't like to predict or demand tours, A + B work far too hard and on far too many awesome projects for us to demand their presence. Subtle hints will do.  O0 I'm personally looking forward to Edinburgh Fringe 2011 of which Amanda has mentioned. That's the extent of my hope, really!

Obviously, I am so absolutely bouncing up and down with happiness that they have reunited.

My only issue is;

When there's something they can't do, or definitely won't be doing, SAY.

They haven't said if this is the only tour dates.  So I'm torn between sulking at the lack of a UK visit, or still hoping through all of winter for a special announcement of some sort.

And they haven't said if this is just a one off reunion, or if this is going to be a bit longer than just a season.
I know AFP and Brian all have their own things they are still doing.
But even to know that this touring together as The Dolls thing is for a year, would give me more reassurance...

I don't know.  Maybe I'm being a spoilt brat.

But I am SO HAPPY that this is happening AT ALL.
And happy for all you lucky US fans who are living in travelling distance to one of the shows.

amanda is among the happiest i've seen her about cabaret,
(i made 3 of the 4 shows last week)
(last fall -> new years eve -> winter there was this bubbliness underneath ; - )
but underneath where she keeps it pretty well hidden,
she is the weariest,
i've seen her

she works hard for all of us,
give them some time
