I'm sure I'll be sorry I asked, but in this context, what's a "suspension"?
You had to ask http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suspension_%28body_modification%29
Oh...  Wellllll, that is both more extreme and less awful than I had feared.....

Reminds me of...  Aw hell, which Western was it where the guy was hung up in just this fashion?
Was it "Little Big Man", with Dustin Hoffman?

Richard Harris?  I confess, I left the room during that scene; it was just too ouchie for me.

Mr Suzuki was hung up like this in Ichi The Killer, as well. I didn't think the hooks looked that painful, but that's possibly because he was hanging over a deep fryer with hot oil spitting at him the whole time while being tortured by Kakihara and his skewery things. The hanging was the least worst part O_O

Actually, this thread seems more appropriate to necro than the other one, seeing as it's newer and we've already discussed this. Moving my post here:

BOOM. Thread necro. Couldn't find a more recent one.

I wanted to ask about septum piercings. I'm considering getting one, but my septum is deviated and I wouldn't be able to fold it up like some people do, but I'm completely unemployable anyway (green hair, minimal work experience, hopeless at talking to customers) so that won't really be a problem.
Does anyone here have one? Pros? Cons? Opinions?

Despite above I'm having second thoughts.

I'm not going to advise going for it or not. I personally LOVE the look and if it weren't for the fact that I work in a pretty corporate environment, I'd have rocked this starting years ago.

However, a big warning from my many friends who have septum piercings: Even after they have healed there is a slight odor due to the combination of sloughed skin cells and nose goo. Even those who keep their clean say it happens from time to time.

I really want to get a septum piercing but I've got an allergy that makes me sneeze. So if I were to have a sneezing attack before it was healed, I'm almost certain bad things would happen.

O_O like, an odor bad enough to be noticeable by other people? Or to impair your ability to notice other odors?

not for other people, but think: you'll basically have a smell right under your nose. Think Silence of the Lambs' autopsy scene where everybody throws Vick's Vapo-rub under their nose to avoid smelling the dead bloated corpse. same concept.

I had to dig a little to find this topic, but I knew there was one.

So, I'm not really for play piercings, but I think these are fun. Pictures were taken at the International Brussels Tattoo Convention.

Corset piercings and surface piercings in general can be a thing of beauty for as short a duration as they can last.

It's true. I've seen my share of corset piercings, but they just get a little "meh" after a while. These, however, are another level of play piercings, I like the added feathers on the first one and the different composition on the second one. Actually the second one reminds me of flapper dresses. I don't think I've ever seen them done like this before. Well, at least not around here.

The feathers on the first one are absolutely gorgeous. Corset piercings never really seem like they're worth it aesthetically (pain wise is a matter of preference), but to have a concept as beautiful as that in/on your body would be worth a lot.
Especially to get a wicked awesome photo shoot done before you had to remove the piercings. It would be so cool to have pictures like that of yourself foreeeveeerrrr.

Ahh! Wing play piercings are cool, I particularly like this shoot of Zephyr Elf:
