not my department to tell you what exactly is going on with your order -- i'm sure beth will check in with you soon -- but as far as problems receiving packages.........my mother lives in new mexico and her brother lives in california. mail was delayed over a week between them. obviously no weather issue there. i live in vermont and have been having trouble getting almost everything i've ordered this season. short of this past weekend, there was no real excuse aside from the fact USPS, fedex, and UPS just suck lately.
Thanks for chiming in Sean, although still doesn't exactly explain why my tracking number doesn't work :'(
Hey Jake-
It's actually a valid tracking number--- it's just that the USPS hasn't updated the status yet. This can mean a few things. First is that it's sitting in the post office in Brooklyn waiting to go on its merry way to you. Another is that whoever was supposed to scan it at our post office didn't and even though it doesn't say so, it's on its way.
Give it a few more days to get unstuck. I'm sure the holiday plus blizzard set the post office back. If it doesn't arrive, let me know and I'll send another one.
Anecdote: I once sent a package to Kyle Cassidy in Philly, from Brooklyn. It's status stayed stuck for almost three months, then it showed up on his doorstep (and the tracking never did update.)
EVERYONE ELSE:
- If you're a US customer who ordered before the Xmas deadline and didn't get a shipping notice (or a package), you should have received an email regarding the delay with the option to cancel. If you didn't, email
merch@amandapalmer.net with the subject line US HOLIDAY ORDER and we'll send it to you.
-If you're a US customer who ordered after the deadline, don't worry, it's still in the queue.
-If you're an International customer and you haven't received a shipping notice, you will soon. We ended up with three times as many orders as we expected, and delivery issues, so we got a late start and only got about half the international orders and 85% of the US orders shipped before the holiday. The elves have been back at work for a few days and things are getting packaged and ready for a swift departure when the postman decides to brave the snow to pick up.
- If you didn't get the holiday surprise, email
merch@amandapalmer.net with the subject line "SURPRISE" and we'll make sure you get it.
Rock,
Beth
