BEST ALBUMS OF 2010?
« on: December 08, 2010, 01:26:00 AM »

I don't think there's a thread for this yet and it's almost the end of the year.

Unfortunately I spent most of this year looking back so I don't really remember much that came out this year apart from these so it's not quite a top 10.

1. Grinderman 2 - Grinderman
2. Brothers - The Black Keys
3. Spoon - Transference
4. The Dead Weather - Sea Of Cowards
5. Deftones - Diamond Eyes
6. Amanda Palmer Plays the Hits of Radiohead on Her Magical Ukelele - Amanda Palmer
7. The Soft Pack - The Soft Pack
8. Antony And The Johnsons - Swanlights

Go ahead and post yours too!

Alright that wasn't too bad, although there's a couple I still want to hear from this year, which I will look to do soon.

It's also interesting to note how my taste has changed in the year by comparing it to last years list.

How about "most anticipated albums of 2011"??

I don't really know what albums came out this year, I just hear a song I like and download.
The album that made the biggest impact on me this year was "A Dinosaur Life" by Motion City Soundtrack for various reasons.

Teenage Fanclub - Shadows
The Coral - Butterfly house

I assembled this team for purposes of a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen thing, but in reading this thread it occurs to me they're all highly bangable. Yeah, even Spider Jerusalem.

I make no claim of taste-authority (you may not like what I like, and vice versa),
and I have most definitely missed an awful lot of the year's new offerings, but two
that have impressed me greatly are:

...pretty far above the rest, I think. nothing else is really coming to mind...then again, I spent so much time on my own stuff this year.

Roughly in order of preference:

Breedless - Ego Likeness
Lunar Nature - The Dreamside
Murphy's Heart - Thea Gilmore
Revolver Soul - Alabama 3
Trypt0fanatic - Kidneythieves

Turns out I haven't bought much music this year.
