yes dinnnnnnner!! I'll be coming in via the PATH

This may be too difficult to pull off but I did offer to pick up Len from the station. If you're there at the same time, I'll get you too. :-) If not, I'll still call and let you know what's happening.

ok no worries. I can be flexible and plan to arrive the same time as Len.

right now, for dinner, we have four:
corinna, doug, liz, and me

any more?
feel free to show up, even if you don't holla here

doug said they might run into traffic, so i plan to arrive around 7pm, and if necessary wait until 8pm
that is, i'll wait until the known people show up, or 8pm, whichever is earlier

unless doug or someone suggest otherwise, i plan to wait at the PATH entrance that is more to the north and east.  it looked marginally closer to maxwell and perhaps more interesting to wait at
i'll dig the location out later

btw, i eat vegan.  other then that, i'm flexible

doug: the lift is less important to me than you guys just being there.  you wrote above that it was easier to park in nyc

I'm contemplating an existential pilgrimage to the New Jersey township of Hoboken.  :D
It will only be after an intense party - and i will probably be chillin by the time I get to the garden state.
We'll see ...

(Boston is sold out, and by New York I turn back into a pumpkin)

And, you can see where Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr had their infamous duel.

 :o
Where?
By the Mobile corner with Pizza Hut?
Duel at the EconoLodge?
This is so poetic.
I really need to see Hoboken now!

Ok Len..I can meet you at the PATH station at 7....and if Doug and Corinna can't give us a lift we can make the pilgrammage to dinner together then on our own.

MAPS: Going to the Amanda show in Hoboken, NJ. Anything to do in Hoboken?
« Reply #20 on: July 25, 2007, 08:24:48 PM »

here is the info from PATH on the area around Hoboken station, including parking garages
http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/path/html/hoboken.html

here is a google map showing Maxwells (the green arrow near the top) and both entrances/exits for the PATH station:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=maxwell's+hoboken&ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ll=40.741957,-74.027038&spn=0.022598,0.033731&z=15&om=1

dinner goers, here is a blow up of the PATH station area.  we'll meet at the entrance on Hudson Pl near River St
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=maxwell's+hoboken&ie=UTF8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&om=1&ll=40.735551,-74.029763&spn=0.001413,0.002108&z=19&iwloc=addr

and the hybrid satellite view that claims Hudson Pl is one way towards the river

Hey everyone. I'm bowing out of dinner. :( I'm really sorry. My body's just too unpredictable right now. I'll be at the show, although whether I'm enjoying myself or munching Kaopectate like it's candy remains to be seen.

See you tonight!

It was good to meet all the other ultra-cool cats as well.
I knew there was a resaon why Karma drew me to New Jersey tonight, i just wish it would have done it without New York CIty traffic.

Okay g'nite Shadowbox.
Gotta crash.

just in case any of you go to hoboken again:

  • I ate at maru, a japanese restaurant
some of the best miso soup i've eaten
    solid vegetarian dumplings
the sushi was over salted, but otherwise good
it is at 219 washington bet. 2nd and 3rd streets
  • lower washington street was really happen'
from the nj transit tracks to around 7th
    lot's of people
    lot's of al fresco dining
    lot's of interesting stores open
  • the views from castle point and pier a were extraordinary of the hudson, nyc, and nj
from beyond the gw bridge to the verazanno narrows bridge
    both day and night
  • for engineering and infrastructure nuts, hoboken terminal is amazin'
the rr terminal has one of those grand 100 year old waiting rooms
with PATH, nj transit rail and bus, and ny waterways ferries all connecting
