Oh, and one more thing - after 9/11, freaking everywhere you turned, some other person or group was called "hero".  The word became very popular - and meaningless -

I thought it meant:

I always thought it an odd thing to call someone.

TL/DR explained - thanks.

(Drizz, that's what I meant - what did it mean)

What's that mean?
I'm gonna go way out on a limb and say it's:

TOO LONG / DIDN'T READ
that is indeed what it means.  most often seen on ONTD, AKA "oh no they didn't" a gossipy livejournal site when someone posts something more that upskirt pictures of britney spears or pictures proclaiming suri cruise to be an alien...
I used to go on that all the time (when I still checked my communities on my friends page) and I think I'm responsible for all the DD new video posts. I love reading the OMFG ARMIT HAIR NO WAIs.

First - Len, you know I like you, but I gotta wonder were you find the time for this stuff.. SOOOOOOO not worth it.

As for everyone else
tl/dr

That was actually an effective and eloquent way of dealing with the situation.... though not what I would have expected. The moral of the story? If ya don't like it, don't read it. No sense in getting your panties in a wad over people you don't even know.

Len, you have intended to try and make this community better. That's a cool idea, but you suck at it. You haven't helped. In fact, you've hurt the place. So bad that many people have lost their will to keep coming. You're everywhere, trying to do everything. You're trying to be a mod. You're trying to be everyone's friend. You're trying too, too, too goddam hard.

I could list at least 15 important people that have become extremely apathetic towards the Box solely because of you. I know your response already; "everyone is equally important!" You can think that. Think it as hard and for as long as you care to. Doesn't really matter in the end. It's still a bullshit ideology. People are not created equal, and not everyone is important in certain situations and circumstances. Nobody gives two shits about pantsss, not even the people on your side. The most backing you're getting nowadays is people telling your detractors--by god, it's frightening that that word fits--that they're being assholes. Which, y'know, we are. But you deserve it, because you, too, are an asshole. You're just a very passive, lofty, fence-riding, utopian-minded asshole. Katherine saw through it long before anyone did, and props to her for being fucking perceptive; you're a mother fucking leech disguised as, fuckall, I don't know, something that pretends to help but just sucks everything fucking dry. Some beautiful vine that blooms gorgeous flowers and kills the tree it rests upon.

I don't even know why I'm writing this. I go to a new forum and just check on this one to search for a pulse and to insult you because I feel obligated to fight against your shit. And there's really no winning, because it's impossible to root out your kind of overly-nice bullshit--yes, you can be too fucking nice, disgustingly, pathetically, viciously so--because there's no firm basis on which to do it. It would take Bill or someone banning you which won't happen, because that's not how Bill rolls, and it damn well shouldn't be.

So, congratulations. You've won. You conquered the evil Old-Clique. You also killed the fucking Shadowbox. I'd find another gold star for you, but I just don't give a shit* anymore.

*I'll still care enough to tell you to shut the fuck up, though.

P.S. SHUT THE FUCK UP.

By the way, the word is heroes you fucking prick. If you're going to completely drain a word of its meaning, you might as well have enough wherewithal to fucking spell it right.

Oh My.

I take no sides on this issue. Although I wish I did because then I'd have something to cling to.

All I know is I met Len in person and he seemed kindhearted and whimsical.

I daresay this whole nonsense is simply about semantics and can be left behind.

I've come to realise that not only do I have a great fondness for your words, but you also remind me visually of Ben from Thinking Ape Blues.

Both these realisations occured to me whilst on the crapper.

I'm perfectly fine with that at this point, but I'll be goddamed if I'm wrong.

You also killed the fucking Shadowbox.

I told my 'puter another story before I tucked it in last night.  This story had no fair maidens or steadfast knights.  There was bleakness and rationing and long, black ships on the horizon.  "and long, black ships on the horizon" I said, saving the ending for another night.  And I sighed a deep, true sigh for the ending that was to come, for the saviour who was no saviour, for the one with prescience that I had ignored, long ago.........

We will all be saved by a 40 foot tall, Asian woman named Kiag.

May her incredible robot journey end as swiftly as it began.
