This British research station in Antarctica will open this Tuesday. :D



Since the ice sheets current stations rest on move 1/4 mile every year, this one - every module is mounted on skis - can be towed to new locations by a single bulldozer.

It's a bit younger than that. :-)

It was build in 2000 and the company Cargolifter meant to construct freight airships there. Unfortunately they had to file for bankruptcy in 2002.
