The Glee Thread.

It is needed.

I was very anti-Glee when it first came on, but I started watching it in the second season to see Darren Criss, as I'm a big fan of A Very Potter Musical.
I've been watching it ever since.
One thing that I HATED, though, was the Rocky Horror episode.
UGH. It was horrible.
One of the things that really irked me was the substitution of "sensational" for "transexual".
And the fact that Mercedes played Frank-N-Furter. It seemed like they did that in order to avoid putting one of the male characters in drag.

I love Glee (and everyone knows that's an understatement). I had no issues with the Rocky Horror episode, but then again, I never saw the RHPS before that episode....

Anyway, I think season 2 started a bit slow. I had a hard time at first to enjoy it as much as the first season, but halfway that has definitely changed (Maybe I also had too high expectations? Because when I watch the episodes again now, I think they're great). Now I only have to survive this damn hiatus again :P

I'm a huge Rocky Horror fan, so the RHPS episode was bound to annoy me.
But, this little break is annoying.
Especially with all the things happening last episode.
That special moment with Kurt and Blaine is now the background on my phone.

Haha. I'm not a 'Klaine shipper', but I am really happy for Kurt. It's about time he gets some love ;)
The thing on my mind right now, after seeing a new little promo, is who will kick Karofsky's ass... Santana or Brittany :P

^And you see, I'm routing for a Kurt Karofsky outcome because Karofsky is totally hot.
I really hate Kurt/Blaine, it's just generally bad.

It would be interesting, I think. But I can't see Kurt with Karofsky... He threatened to kill him, he shoved him into his locker many times, and he harassed him so many times. Even though it was because he was scared of his feelings, I don't think Kurt could ever forget all of that.
I also have to add that I love Max Adler, and he is doing a brilliant job at playing Karofsky.

Damn, I'm already spamming in this thread... *steps away from her laptop*

I was never 100% for the RPHS episode. First and foremost, I didn't want a new wave of 12-year-olds buying up all the tickets to midnight showings on RPHS and being super poseurs. I saw that happen with Wicked the musical and all it made me want to do was gouge my eyes out with a melon baller. I also had it ideally cast in my head and the actual casting wasn't the same. Also, if you do the material, DO THE MATERIAL. Don't change anything. At all. It's too much of a classic.

I'm a fan of Glee. I grew up in underdog show choirs. When people gripe about "Oh, they covered this song and it was so awful and I don't know why they do that" it doesn't even affect me. In my college choir, we had these semester requirements called Pop Solos. Not sure why they were called that, because you could do any song you wanted. Opera. Mariachi. Musical theatre. Jazz. Pop. Whatever. I have heard people cover just about everything, good and bad. I guess this, to me, is Pop Solos all over again, and I enjoy(ed) them.

I also really enjoy that the choir is a group of stereotypes working together. Hidden in there is some kind of positive message.

It does help, though, to work at a venue that has served as a shooting location for the show... ;-)

My love for Kurt/Blaine aside, I think it would be really delicious if Glee did a Kurt/Karofsky thing.
But then I have to remember that this is Fox, not Showtime.
If they were going to do it, it would have to be a sort of dark storyline.
Like, with Kurt being conflicted and having some self-loathing feelings.
It would be delicious. But I don't think they'll do it.

The "Blame it on the alcohol" episode made me want to go out and get drunk.
For some reason I don't think this was the intended message for the episode.

I'm pretty sure that is what was intended.
Because that's exactly what it made me want to do. Their party/session looked fun.

It really did. And it was probably the one moment where I've actually been jealous of Rachel.

Rachel's party dress... what the hell was she wearing? lol

But yeah, I'd definitely like to party with the Glee kids ;D
