thank you very mucho! I'm very glad I get to relive this experience. I feel very lucky I saw this show, it ranks very high for me based on shows Ive downloaded. No way I can keep them in FLAC though, I have like zero computer space. :buck2:

for those who download the flacs, i recommend burning them to cd-r AS FLAC FILES for posterity. that way, if you ever want to listen to the show, you just put the cd-r in your drive and play them with you favorite media player. and, if you need to, you can convert the flacs on the cd-r to wav/aiff on your hard drive and burn to an audio cd-r for yourself or someone else. and, of course, you can always convert those flacs to mp3 as needed.

there's no reason you have to keep flacs on your hard drive -- particularly if you do not have the space -- but there are good reasons to hang onto them in on some other media even if you don't have the hard drive space to keep them indefinitely on your computer.

I would just like to say Thank You to Amanda and Brian for an amazing show!  This was my second time and my girlfriends first seeing the dolls in concert.  We drove from Maine to see them and it was FANTASTIC!!!  I would also like to send out a BIG thank you to Varnark for providing an excellent recording of the show.  I was hoping and praying one would surface.  Now Im hoping for a video  :).   :headbang:

What kind of connection do you have?  Dial-up?  What other kind of things do you have going on with your computer?

hey vanark -- can you post a mp3 clip of your recording? i am going to download it but i need to make some room on the hard drive before i get to that. however, i am curious how those church audio mics sound ... a 45-60 segment of any song would do the trick. thanks!

i'm dsl-ing it. i don't have much memory left on my computer. [aroung less than 20 gb] which is bad. everything internet-related is slowing down considerably. . .. it's down to 2 days now. ..
i'm on a mac. it's not ridiculously old. .
the first time i tried to download it it said it would take 3, then 4, then 10 days, so i stopped it and started over again. if that tells you anything.

Did you try turning off your modem for 30 seconds? Believe it or not, that could solve all of your problems. Sometimes, my internet gets painfully slow for seemingly no reason. I once went over a month with deathly slow everything, despite the fact that tech support told me to just turn it off and on again. I thought it was to simple, so I never did. Then one day I cracked, did it, and life was sexy again.

What bit torrent software are you using?  Do you regularly use bit torrent?

You can try setting your upload speed to be about 5-10 kB/s less than your maximum upload speed.  Sometimes you can strangle your connection if  you are uploading or downloading at the max speed.

i'm using
BitTorrent Version 4.27.2
[invented by Bram Cohen]

and no. i have no idea what i'm doing.
but i did just turn the downloading speed down.
it's down to 1 day 19 hours .. and it's skipping hours so i think it's good now.

thanks on everyone for help, by the way. it's appreciated.

I asked my computer nerd husband which bit torrent client he thought I should use and he recommended a Canadian shareware called Acquisition.  It was a $26 license fee, but as shareware, it all goes the the developers, which those computer nerdly types all seem to like.  It interfaces directly with Mac iTunes, so I don't need to then find another software to convert it.  It may mean I won't be able to burn a full high-quality dvd, though; I can't tell yet.  It's saying the download will take around 4 hours.

And more thanks to vanark!
