TOUR NEWS: AFP Hits New England & Europe Summer 2011
« on: June 01, 2011, 08:07:34 PM »

By now, many of you now know AFP's gonna be doing a smattering of shows around New England and Europe, this summer. As we mentioned here, we announced the shows to the mailing list first, but are making our way around the internet filling the rest of the world in. Below, you'll find info on the AFP solo dates (and shortly, some links for all of the Evelyn Evelyn Fringe shows) as well as your first bit of info on that Boston mystery show (an exclusive treat for you Shadowbox'ers). Any word on when we'll know more about the "mystery event" in London (and whatever is happening the day before)?

I can afford to either come for the show on the Friday night, or come up for Sunday/Monday and do the two mystery things. I don't wanna buy a ticket for the Friday night then think I should have come for the other two, but I don't wanna hold off buying tickets, then find out the mystery things won't be as worthwhile as a full on show but find out too late after the actual show has already sold out D:

ahhhh amanda, why do you do this to me?!?

Ok, I'm really not trying to be a wanker here...but the RSVP link for the Boston show points to THE HOBOKEN show.  ??   So again, where do I buy a ticket for the Boston show?   :D

The tricky thing about mystery shows is that if there was more information shared about it, it would no longer be a mystery =P

All that's known right now is that you should save the date and be in London!

Keep tabs on Amanda's feeds as I'm sure she's likely to share info eventually, but when more show information is released it will most certainly posted with ticket info and all that jazz on Amanda's tour page, bookmark it if you haven't already :) :

I wonder if it's a regional thing or just me being a stupid American. I've most commonly seen Australia as "AUS" but I'll fix it since the internet domain for Austria is AT and I don't want to confuse anyone.

BROOKLYN, NY - RSVP
Thursday, June 23

...

My 85 year old aunt is interested in coming to the Brooklyn show.
How elderly friendly is the The Bell House??

(Yes, the Aunt who brought me to the
halloween 2010 d.dolls reunion at Irving Place)

She'll bring her chair cane again,
but the The Bell House doesn't seem to have a Balcony.
Will be she't be able to see anything?

Thanks!

Note the car codes for Australia and Austria.
Most cars in Europe has an oval decla on the back with the country code in it.

I've never been to this particular place, but I don't think it'd hurt to give the venue a call and get all the info from them you need to make sure your aunt is comfortable

well, the cars around here only have an "A" sign. the two-letter abbrev that is used for things like tour dates is AT, or the three letter code AUT. (for australia AU or AUS). either way it says europe on top, so there shouldn't be much confusion.

and as long as you know there is a difference between the two you don't qualify as stupid americans... ;)

I'm in kindof a Catch 22 with the London Mystery shows, since i'll have to come down to London from the opposite end of the country, and with not knowing when tickets go onsale, i can't book hotels because i don't know if i'll be able to get tickets (If they sell out too quickly or i miss the on-sale announcement) but by the time i find out if i can get/already have the tickets, hotels will probably be too expensive for me to book anyway  :-\

I already said this in another post, BUT my name is rachel and I am from Australia and I am going on a 2-3 month trip with some friends to Europe! I am super excited to see Amanda over there, and so far I have a ticket to the Brighton gig, but the stupid interenet won't let me purchase the london and Amsterdam ones :( If you guys have any solutions to my problems that would be DANDY.
I also wanted to ask if there is anyone willing to lend me a couch or a room leading up to/around these gigs. I am not a scary person wishing to invade your privacy, I'm just looking to meet some fellow AFP fans that I can hang out with and have a good time :D

Any help would be MUCHOS appreciated!

AFP love!

What's going on when you try and buy tickets? Is it not allowing you to purchase them because you don't live within a certain area? Perhaps we can get someone in the area to help you out and buy tickets if you were to PayPal them the money.

We'll give you as much warning as we can on the tickets - I don't think it's going to sell out immediately so as long as you're keeping tabs, you should be fine. We'll also - maybe - be able to do a contest/giveaway for a couple. Basically, what I'm trying to say is: Don't wait to book things/make your plans.

We'll give you as much warning as we can on the tickets - I don't think it's going to sell out immediately so as long as you're keeping tabs, you should be fine. We'll also - maybe - be able to do a contest/giveaway for a couple. Basically, what I'm trying to say is: Don't wait to book things/make your plans.
also there are dirt cheap hostels in camden if necessary....
Don't you have a closet you'd be willing to let for a modest fee? (Meals extra, of course.)

Managed to get my ticket to the London gig, but it would be swell if I could find some people to meet up with and help me find the venues/hang out with whilst I'm in the UK :D

also, I think i'm just going to have to use my dad's credit card for the Amsterdam show if I manage to get there. Pretty sure it's a just a matter of using mastercard instead of visa, but thanks for the help anyway :D

really? In all seriousness? Because that would be ultimately really cool. I haven't been to that part of the world yet...actually I've only ever been to New Zealand and Aus. so finding people to hang out with would be absolutely amazing! and I don't really think it'd be wise for me to try and find my way around by myself. feel free to add me on the book of faces :D.
