brigade ideas, opinions?
« on: November 08, 2007, 03:28:14 PM »

i have a few ideas for acts. I'd like to know your opinions.

the first is an adopt-a -doll booth thingy. i have a collection of about 50 old dolls, and I've been looking for a way to get rid of them since they take up most of my closet. i also sew and would make rag dolls or dresses for the other(some naked). i would set up a table full of dolls. i would set up an adoption agency, we'll call it and people can adopt dolls. i would have certificates of adoption to fill out. and we'd have to sign it and they'd get to take the doll and the certificate home with them.

next idea i had, it may have been done before.
to have a dress up trunk or two. with funny hats and feather boas, pirate shirts, and cowboy boots...etc.. that's where the idea started. i had two directions from there either..a) we'd take pictures of them and post them all online and give them a slip of paper with the website address on it and they could view their photos. or b) we could take small groups of people who want to dress up and make a game out of it sort of. give them a role in a skit. and have them read it. so you have people dressed up in what ever they want reading plays, entertaining the others around. this may force guys to play girl parts, or vice versa. they may have to play a bird or the lion. and i feel like this could turn out to be very funny.

number three

my friend came up with the idea of doing a plastic surgery bit.
she would statue(or maybe not) and be painted with lines like on her tummy, that say "cut here" and then i would be in a doctor type outfit, with a giant pair of scissors or scalpel,(cardboard?) and some how interact with her.

so those are my basic concepts.
i just wanted to know what you thought. they may or may not be used. if you want to use any of these ideas, do it up.

I like the first two ideas - especially the second one. Giving the participants a role to play would be great fun - it doesn't have to be hugely complex - even just giving them a peculiar character quirk that they must adopt for the time they are in "costume" that others have to guess would be fun - things like "Has a phobia of stripey stockings" or "Likes to smell white face paint" could lead to some fun interaction.

Could call it "Guess my Peculiar Quirk Booth!"

I absolutely love the first two ideas. If you decide to go with the second, googling improvisation games..they really are fun to do with a crowd.

Also, the first it is a wonderful idea, but if you decide to go with another you could donate your dolls to an orphanage or a charity for children. (try battered women's shelters or what not...)

As for a comment about the third, I think it's been done before and it deffinetly wouldn't be as fun...

your life is /FAIL
...but wouldn't /FAIL indicate an end of fail?

I would suggest that you mean Alyss' life is NO END of FAIL....

No?

Why not go retro one time? Like the whole flapper scene? I think that would be exciting.
