Hi guys!
I'm new here, so I should introduce myself a little.

I live in Prague, Czech Republic and my english is pretty horrible... sorry about it!
I'm a huge Amanda/Dresden Dolls fan but I don't know any other fans in real life, so I hope I'll meet some here. I play ukulele (badly) and I'm going to see Amanda & GTO on monday, for my very first time, and I can't think about anything else for weeks.
Also I'm (happily) married to a guy with a completely different taste in music. And I'm really socially awkward in real life. So, that's me.

Hi!
I thought I'd done this when I registered, but as I've just been lurking since then, I suppose it's better this way!

My name's Jasmine, I'm 23 next month, and I'm English.
....
Hi Jasmine!  Welcome!

...currently travelling to Ecuador to climb Mt. Chimborazo to raise money for a local school for the blind.
I wonder if I'm the only one here who's heard of Chimborazo? There's a place here in my city
(Richmond, Virginia, US of A) called Chimborazo, named for the one in Equador, even though
ours looks nothing like the Andes; it's part of a very modest green hill...
(It's a hospital-site from our Civil War, and a museum.)

Alas, my trusty "Eastern European Traveller's Phrase Book" is missing, so I can't even
say "Welcome" in Czech....  I wouldn't worry too much about imperfect English (and I
don't see any glaring probems with your English, by the way.)

"Awkward," though....  I don't know if we can have anyone like that around here...
See, we're all completely suave and confident in all social situations....   O0

Yes, I heard that all of you here are the most socially confident creatures in the world of internet forums. I also heard that you bite.
But that's okay. Thanks for a nice welcome.

Sangrebloom, That's good to hear, thanks!

Spider Jerusalem - The work is fine, and I love the people&cause but...I don't know if it was the same for you, but dealing with non-technologically minded people makes it tricky sometimes.

Miranda, feel free! I've always been fond of Jasmine & her tiger (...Rajah?) despite the INCESSANT references though out my childhood. My surname is a computer game too, so using the same logic, you should probably imagine me more like this -

CeeGBee, I live near a Richmond in England, but I think Richmond VA is named for the one near London. Glad someone's heard of Chimborazo, I can't count the number of times I've explained it to people. There're been a few instances of having to explain where Ecuador is too  :violent1:

Hi Faloleen! Hope to see you around the forum (We can be new and awkward together!)

Nice to meet you all!

The trouble was with my boss, inhuman deadlines, pressure, stress, pseudo-technologically people, no briefings for me, no management planning (i.e. my boss would set the deadline with the clients and all the project scope before talking to me), overload of tasks, multiple tasks no related at the same time, changing priorities, projects canceled  after wasting time on them, and so on,,,

I was working almost 12h a day. Ive told him, in May, I was quitting by the end of June. When June ended, he offered me to work 15 more days. I did. All that I won was a rage from him because one of the oldest and bigger clients closed the account - and that was my fault, because I should have told him I wouldnt be able to deliver the job.

So, it is my fault that you overwhelmed your only developer with an shity amount of work and did not hire anyone during those 2 and a half months? Awesome!! Blame someone else is so,so, so, so, much easier!

(and nice to meet you too. and Im also social awkward in real life.)

I assembled this team for purposes of a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen thing, but in reading this thread it occurs to me they're all highly bangable. Yeah, even Spider Jerusalem.
