The Case of the Mysterious Walking Discs
« on: July 21, 2007, 01:22:06 PM »

SO.

Nefarius (and a friend) and I have all owned several copies of Poe's Hello.

WHAT THE SHIT?

Is this album cursed?  Has anyone else owned multiple copies of it?  How about another album?  DVD?   Book?  Anything?

What cursed items have you purchased again and again?

Not many; if we're not talking about buying copy after copy because you keep giving them to people while saying, "Dog, you gotta have this!", or leaving them with gfs when you break up, the only things I can think of are "Never Mind the Bollocks" by the Sex Pistols (wore out 3 copies on vinyl before getting the CD) and Sarah McLachlan's "Fumbling Towards Ecstasy". I'm on my 4th copy of that one - no idea what happened to the first 3.

I went through a period in my life where I lost 4 wallets in about 2 years.  I was really stoned.

I had a problem with losing sunglasses too, but I actually had to buy the pair I have now because the others were too old and scratched up.  I had them for 3 years.  The current pair is going on 2 years.

I'm on my fourth copy of The Sims 2.

I'd somehow always manage to lose the run disk, so I'd end up buying another copy...

in my lifetime i have bought 4 ABBA greatest hits cds and the fourth is currently missing. one time i bought a concert ticket and lost it within a week, bought another one online, then 5 minutes before the door opened i couldn't find it. thank god it wasn't sold out. each ticket was 10 dollars each so i wasted 30 dollars to see some screamo band i don't even like.

In my last post (The Bar) in which I mention DD and TOOL I am reminded that I am also missing both my DD and TOOL t-shirts. Both of which were bought at the shows. Hmmm, curious? Could my undying love for both have created a porthole of jealousy and now both shirts have been sucked in forever and will never be seen again. Or are they duking it out some where in a parallel universe and only the victor will return to me!

I have purchased many copies of the collected works of H.P.Lovecraft
and always seem to end up with no copies very quickly.... this is mainly due to me handing them to random people and getting them to read them.

Ani-Little Plastic Castles-I've owned this CD at least 3 times

All Smashing Pumpkins CDs: I've bought at least two copies of each so far

I also seem to frequently lose/give away Dresden Dolls CDs.

Referring back to the original post, I have just the opposite situation:
I bought one copy of Hello, but I now have two because some friends thought the copy that showed up at their house must be mine.
