Ashamed to like the Dolls/Amanda (on Facebook?)
« on: August 05, 2011, 03:55:42 PM »

this is a thread i meant to make awhile ago, and it may be entirely coincidence, but i have noticed on several occasions people i know, from the shadowbox, who are MORE than casual listeners of the dolls don't list them on facebook under their favorite music section. has anyone else noticed/experienced this?

Think you're putting too much thought into it. I've had an fb account for ages and only just bothered to add stuff I liked a couple of months ago and before that I only bothered if someone else liked it and it came up on my feed and I could be lazy about it. Plus I know stacks of people who have had it for ages and still haven't bothered to like anything. I think the truth is that not as many people care about the likes and shit that come up on their info pages as you think.

Yeah i too guess people don't bother listing their favourites. At least, i don't bother doing such things, because fb is nothing new or interesting anymore and it bores me most of the time. If i coincidentally see "pj harvey page" on the main page i simply add it, then i see "honeyhoney page" and add it, etc. That's why Dresden Dolls or AFP doesn't seem at the top of the list.
Dude it would probably take 3-4 hours for me to make a list of my favourite bands, books, movies. And i always have something better to do.

facebook is like the worst book I've ever read. the characters do not evolve one bit and the plot is going nowhere.
