the euro millions lottery draw is tomorrow, though, but there's "only" 15 million...
and if i win that i will QUIT MY FUCKING JOB!!
(not that i hate it but you know)

I know, i know. But you also know that arbeit macht frei :P

I guess i would not quit working, but i would open my own place.
Keep in mind where one finds that expression prominently displayed.....
(Google-image it if you don't already know...)

I was just reading an article about how so many winners of big lottery jackpots manage
to lose it all in a fairly short time....

I already know where the expression had been used.

Some of my Crimean ancestors had been banished from the fucking Russia during the WW II.

I was just being ironic about how demanding and despoting most of the company owners / managers are. It's as if the whole work environments turned into concentration camps.

If I did win. I wpuld quit my job. But only so I could study more and not have to worry about finding part time work.

It's not surprising. Most people don't know how to truly deal with that sort of windfall.

Okay...  When I win, I'll have a big party and you are all invited...

I actually can't get my head around that kind of money. Surely you couldn't ever run out, with the interest it'd generate? It's like when people tell you how many people died in WW2, it's just too big to get your head round.

But, if I won a shit-ton of money, I'd get my mum and step-dad a nice cottage in the Cotswolds, my dad and step-mum a nice cottage in Cornwall or possibly a narrow boat, depending on what they'd prefer, give a decent but equal chunks to my brother and step-sisters, give something to Seamy to help him get out of debt, and then I'd have to wait a while but after my degree I'd buy a house in the Lake District miles from anyone but right near a lake - it'd have it's own jetty and everything - and get a little dinky sailboat and set up my little farm. I'd have three pigs, two sheep, six chickens, a rooster, two horses and a cow. I'd also get three dogs, four cats, two chinchillas and a tank of fish. Then I'd spend the rest of my life farming, sailing and writing. Oooh, and I'd bribe Steven Moffat to let me on the writing team of Doctor Who, but under the understanding that I could do all my work from home so I wouldn't have to go to Wales or Cardiff or wherever. Or they could come to me - I'd pay for their travel expenses, obviously xD And I'd hire a chef, and a gardener, and before the farm I'd go and travel for a year or so to see all the places I've always wanted to. And I'd go to the theatre a lot.

We need this thread back to life.  I love overly fantastic daydreams of windfall money and paying off all my debts in full and sending my creditors an extra twenty dollars in the shape of a middle finger.

If I hit it big, I'd get a financial advisor tyo start getting that money working for me.

Next, I'd buy a square block in San Francisco in the North Beach Section around the Grant and Green intersections. Basically it straddles Little Italy (North Beach) and Chinatown. I have a friend who owns a tattoo shop in that block and I'd LOVE to be her new landlord.

I would buy myself a decent (but not huge) house and a little comic book store, I'd keep enough aside to keep my stock ticking over without having to worry about actual sales and I'd give the rest of my money to friends, family and causes that seemed like they might actually know what to do with it.

I'd like to start some sort of scholarship for students who want to do what I want to do; move abroad without having to worry about tuition or any of that. I'd look over each of the applications myself and give the money to the people I like :P

I'd be all over that idea! ^

I'd also host a party, the kind of party where you have to shut down streets.  I'd get every juggler, stilt walker, face painter I could find and pay them to wander around the closed down streets and preform for the people that wander into the party. Food and drinks will abound and I'd pass out glow sticks to everyone.  Live music at one end of street and it will be the kind of shit I want to listen to and a DJ at the other end also playing awesome music.
For epic people, I'd send invitations with wax sealed envelopes and there will be announcements of their epic-ness.  It would be a gallery show for artist around me, and they will sell as much of their work as they want because the air will be filled with amazing.  :D

If I won the lottery.

I actually bought a ticket (with the $17 I found I'd won when I checked all the lottery tickets
I've bought over the last three months or so yesterday).  Dunno what I might do. That is a LOT
of money for one person to play with.  Maybe I could become a Republican, or a Scientologist...

Is half a BILLION enough?
