The GOP - All life is sacred, and every person needs to be protected....

...until they're born, after that you're on your own, and if you ask for help you're a bum and a freeloader.

Don't forget that if you want to end your life on purpose, they're against that also. Only THEY know when it's okay to end a life.

Restore Our Future is the political action committee founded in 2010 to support the Mittenator's presidential run.  Nice try, but you can't restore something that doesn't exist.

I don't like to use the term "illegal wars" because it seems to imply that legality would make everything okay.

Legality is a piece of paper.  Whether or not I think it is moral means so much more to me.

i love to say 'illegal' in conjunction with lawmakers, because it illustrates the irony...

So the Repugnicans are pissed that Obama did a recess-appointment even though they, the
Depublicans, are staging sham sessions every few days....  The Dems oughta sneak back to
DC and crash one of those sessions:

The Following business will be considered....

[looooong list of Dems' pet projects and appointments]
[loooooong series of procedural complaints voted-down 49-1, alternating with motions passed 49-0, with one protest abstention]  ;D

Well gee guys, if you didn't want to do business, why didn't you go ahead and recess?

The Senate Rules require "Pro Forma" sessions every three days while the Senate is in recess. Since they have been holding "Pro Forma" sessions, by their own rules, they are in recess.

Seriously, we oughta just disband both parties... Let American political interests re-align
according to their actual plans/dreams instead of pandering to one or the other ideological
extremes.

I mean....
Where do people go if they're "pro-choice", but favor fiscal restraint by the government?
....or that rare non-hypocritical "pro-life" AND anti-capital-punishment?
...suppose someone's gay, but thinks massive military spending is the way to go?

The Senate Rules require "Pro Forma" sessions every three days while the Senate is in recess. Since they have been holding "Pro Forma" sessions, by their own rules, they are in recess.

These rules are adopted every two years, when a new Congress starts.

They include the filibuster rule.
The rules only require a majority to pass.
So the Senate could do away with the filibuster,
if it wanted to.

I've wished this for a while... I'm very fiscally conservative but also vehemently anti war and anti drug war among other social positions.
