Eh. I understand it. Apparently, Mr. Reznor likes to play his hand close to the lapels. Brian wouldn't want to make waves. I didn't think it was a crazy request, so I took it down. We had only been instructed, initially, to wait a week after hearing it. As you can imagine, I thought it would be cool for little ole me and Violating Voices to break the news before Rolling Stone.

How the hell did I miss that thread?

Anyway, this is beyond awesome.  I really hope it works out for Brian.

Brian and Nine Inch Nails? Absolutely perfect.

I absolutely concur.

Do remember though that this could just be a studio thing, like when Dave Grohl did the live drums on With Teeth.

Most likely. Trent was interviewed by a Honolulu newspaper just before the last date of the '07 tour. In the interview, he said that he was trying to come up with a way to perform that didn't necessarily tie him to a fronting-a-band type of performance.

I'd wager that this won't be the last major-artist session work that comes Brian's way. The guy really is an incredible drummer.

the fact that the dolls toured with NIN in '05 probably helps, too.

Damn it!  I should have asked Brian about this last night at NORVA, but I forgot!  >:(  Someone started a thread about this at ETS (nin fan forum), and they were made fun of and abused because of it.  But that's pretty much what they do to anyone for any reason over at the nin forums, lol. I've been a member over there for years, and chastising people over there is a sport! I thought that maybe it was pure BS because of all the abuse the person got for being a speculating stalker asshole, so I just blew it off.  Then I saw this thread here today, and now I feel like a moron for not thinking to ask Brian and/or Amanda anything about it.   :embarassed:

Hmmmm....Brian playing with nin?  Could that mean the possibility of The Perfect Drug being played live in the future?  ^-^  Brian could do it, no problem!  ;D

If I remember right, no mere mortal has the ability to play the drums on perfect drug.

Seeing as Brian is a super-human, I guess there's not a problem.

well, those are live drums on the track, so i assume chris vrenna managed just fine  ^-^...it's actually not that hard a "solo" for a drummer with chops (which of course brian has out the hat), but from what i've read trent just doesn't like the song. it was on a setlist last year...the AIR raid in LA "show" (if you'd call it that)...apparently it was the next song to be played before the dudes in riot gear came in, which simply leads me to believe (since it was all staged) tr did that as a joke.
