OK....what I got on sex dwarf cover:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/sfum9r
It's in .wav, and it's a high-quality rip from Closure, but it is not a full version of the song because as far as I can tell, there isn't one.

edit: ehhhh....not the best quality, but it may be what we've got.

Its a tad better than what I had. Thank you for getting it I appreciate it.

i spent the rest of my night downloading the instrumental versions that trent added on there.

the downward spiral is pretty neat to listen to straight through without lyrics.

I thought it was pretty cool that he put all those instrumentals up there.  And hey, Deep is actually almost decent with no lyrics!  ;D  But then I imagine him singing to it and it all goes to hell.

"deep" is awesome without words.   :D

year zero is pretty sweet instrumental, too.

Well, I like the video also, because it's comedy gold!  Nothing is better than accidental comedy, especially when you know that it was really meant to be serious.  I mean come on, they didn't even wipe the drool?  Bwaahahahahaha!  I really think the director of that thought, "hmmm....I wonder how much silly crap I can put this rock star through before he snaps?"

And how can you even hear "deep, deep, deep, deep..." without laughing your ass off?  I'm even laughing as I type this! Reznor definitely came up with the lyrics to that one while snorting coke off a stripper!  ;D

I do all my best work snorting coke off a hookers back!  ;D
Yes the video is comedy gold, especially the "im going to make a withdrawl" comment at the end but I do like the song, its better than Capital G!  >:D

No...noooo....Capital G PWNS Deep!  And the fun part is to try and sing along with it, but you've got to sing like Trent, with all the "huh's" and the "uh's."  ;D

To me it seems like Trent was trying to be totally serious with Deep, and he did NOT achieve that at all, so it's just silly and goofy. With Capital G it comes across to me like he was sarcastically laughing at both the situation and himself as the "character" in the song, so it comes off as sardonically amusing.  He's pretty good at capturing that feeling, especially when he injects himself into the song (whether it's him or him as a character), because I think he still likes (and probably always will to a point) to beat himself up and then laugh at it in a morbid sort of way.  I think he's better at the "laughing" at himself part than he used to be - it used to be less "laughing," more just "hating" - but he still mocks himself to a point, and he does it well.  No one achieves that quite like Trent Reznor can, he's the ultimate sensei of that.  :icon_rr:

i actually like the song, but that fucking video was the beginning of the end. or, not really, 'cause i love new NIN -- there's still no "end" in sight in my eyes, but that "deep" video was a definite misstep. i wonder what made TR decide to release something as a fucking tag-on to an angelina jolie action movie...

i agree with you, 100%
(i wish i could take credit for this idea, but i can't):
wouldn't it have been amazing if all promotions tr did for "year zero" were in the "capital g" voice, with "ung"s and "HUT-HUT"s and all?
woulda spiced up those interviews quite a bit...

AHHHH!!!NNOOOOO!!!!DEEEEEP!!!AAAAHHHH!!!! Deep is better than NO song!  JK, but i still think Capital G pwns.

That's easy....someone mentioned the words "video game" and "Angelina Jolie" (and this was when she was still a fun skank) and he said, "sure, I'll give you a song!"  and because this was probably still in the middle of his "snorting coke off strippers" stage, he probably did what he did with a lot of shit at the time, and, ummm, put it off due to writers block. Yeah, that's it. But then the guy from the movie calls him up and asks, "hey dude, where's that song you promised? You said you'd get it to us by last week?"   So in between the snorts off the stripper, he goes, "Oh yeah....I've got it right here!" *shuffle shuffle* *covers phone* "Danny.....I don't care WTF it is, just bring me a CD with something on it!" *shuffle* *uncovers phone* "Yeah...here it is...it's called....." *looks at CD* "...ummm...Deep." *covers phone* "Danny....when the fuck did I record this crap?" *uncovers phone* Yeah, its called Deep. You'll love it.  I really do.  Now when did you say we do the video for it?  I'm sure looking forward to that!"

wouldn't it have been amazing if all promotions tr did for "year zero" were in the "capital g" voice, with "ung"s and "HUT-HUT"s and all?

Bwaahahahahaha!  ;D  OMG that would have been the best! See, you have to chase your nin with a bit of humor, lest you end up killing yourself because of all the doom and gloom.  ;) That's how all us old timers do it.

Hey im an old timer & I like my doom & gloom straight up with no humour at all!  :)

The first time I heard Capital G I was drinking coffee & promptly sprayed it out of my nose in utter shock!
While Deep may have been used for a crap Angelina Jolie movie, he has also let his songs be used for the absolutly fucking awful Doom movie & let Vodaphone use The Perfect Drug for a mobile phone commercial!

& not that I would ever watch it (cough) but one of the UK cable porn channels used Closer in its adverts
