I thought I'd posted the images here, but obviously haven't got the hang of doing so, any tips are appreciated. I clicked the insert image and got two sets of brackets, thought it worked with drag and drop but obviously not.

No worries, welcome to the forum!

To insert a photo the photo needs to be uploaded on a website or photo sharing website that allows hot linking (hot linking means that the website will allow you to post the image's url here on other websites). You can upload the photo to sites like photobucket.com, flickr etc.

I imagine if the panel you want to display here is already on indiegogo you should be able to right click the photo and select "copy image URL" or "copy image location" - if you don't see those options try "show info" and see the image url. Get that url and place it between the two IMG brackets you saw in the text box when you hit "insert image"

and you did make an unsuccessful attempt to include these.
my apologies for not checking

very nice graphic novel art,
though you interpretations of both
Amanda and Neil vary from reality in interesting ways

e.g. Amanda is not that stark, and Neil is not that much of a hunk





you can click Quote to see what i did
(I deleted the '?<string-of-numbers>' at the end of each)

some chance these won't display in a few minutes.
(been ok for a hours now)
some websites set up image displays so you a link only works for a few minutes.
which is why Hayley's suggestions of using an image archive site is wise

before the right button menu included the option
of clicking the image URL into the copy/paste buffer,
i use to View Source (Ctl-U in most browsers),
and find the image URLs in the page source

Thanks for the tips everyone! Yes both Neil and Amanda both differ to some degree, but that's the nature of dreams, and I always try to be as true to the dream as possible. I'll hopefully post some more panels soon.

BBC code is yet another thing to learn.  
it has its oddnesses and quirks.
URL weirdnesses too

lot's of us here have trouble with it, and other things in life.

the changes i made to your string so it worked were:

* remove the "[]" that surrounded the URL
* change the double "gg" at the end to a single "g", so it ended "*.jpg"
* put a "[img]" before and and a "[/img]" after
viola!

I love the dream painting but I hate the hair on Neil's arms in the graphic novel pic. It doesn't look realistic and I find it distracting. If you look at a photo you will see the actual hairs are longer and kind of curve with the curve of his arm plus the hair near his wrist is angled toward his hand. I think you did a nice job on the faces, something I have never been able to do, so I really admire your artistic ability.
