Yessir. The White house had threatened a veto due to what they called "ambiguous language". Well it turns out the "ambiguous language" required putting in a line that clearly states that this law applies to all US citizens, as well as foreign nationals.

This is how our Republic dies; with a whimper. While you all have been Occupying wherever, nobody paid attention to what Washington was doing.

and, no it wasn't partisan. It passed in the senate 93-7.

so essentially if one were to be accused of being a "terrorist" (whatever that may actually be including owning the q'uran or writing something nasty about the government on twitter) be you U.S. citizen or foreign national.....they can simply bundle you into a miltary van and make you dissapear..no trials, no lawyers, no right of appeal?

sacrifice our civil liberties.....

You have to be identified as an Al Quaeda terrorist or accomplice.  If you're a Christian looney
with a rental truck (rented lorry to you Limeys) full of diesel & fertilizer explosives, you still
have the right to remain silent.  (The rationale, of course, is that by defining the specific "enemy"
against whom "we" are at war, in which war our whole nation is a battlefield, creating an "invasion"
as described in Article I, Section 9 of the Constitution, they create the circumstance under which
the Writ of Habeas Corpus may be lawfully suspended.)
