Dear All,

In another example of the terrible sickness of some elements of humanity, a CCTV video was posted online of an incident when chinese toddler YueYue was run over twice by a van (and once again by a second van) and ignored by 18 passers by (including a mother and child) before being rescued by a street cleaner in a busy market square in Fushan Province, China. It has been alleged that the driver of the first truck may have deliberately ran over the poor girl a second time to avoid the higher levels of compensation apparently paid out for injured victims as opposed to dead victimes under the Chinese legal system.

This has been reported by numerous news sources throughout the world and caused considerable soul searching in China. The link below is of the report by the Sydney Morning Herald. You are warned in advance that the article and video is shocking and has provoked outrage.

Disgraceful incidents like this, apparent cases of bystander apathy, make me wonder if we have become cold, paranoid and heartless as a race.

I have seen it yesterday.
Really disturbing.
And a heartbreaking real-life drama.
Also it's the proof of how we -as the humankind- have lost all the mercy, philanthropy, empathy.

i hope it's just why you hate such people.

hate won't get any of us anywhere.

and shotting the van driver does not solve the problem here. in fact it would be an easy quittance for him. i think should be sentenced to penal servitude for life. maybe inside the four walls he remembers what it is to be a human being.
