So yesterday, in a nail biting stand off, Chris Dorner is believed to have killed himself. He was discovered in a cabin by two maids, who were then tied up and car jacked. One escaped and altered police which lead to another chase up in Big Bear (snowy part of California) where two officers were shot, one was killed. Dorner is then believed to have gone into a cabin (I am unsure if it was the same one he was first discovered in) where he barricaded himself. It was then reported that one gunshot was heard after tear gas was shot into the building, which proceeded to catch fire and burn into a charred black soot pile with only the chimney standing. So it is assumed that this man is dead, they have to do DNA testing on the remains to be sure.
Today is the funeral for the first police officer that was killed, his name was Michael Crain.
I feel that either way all of this ended unfairly, maybe I'm naive to for thinking our system works, but I wish they would of tried to keep Dorner alive so he could have a trial. (or at least not burned to a crisp to really identify his remains.)
