ratsrgods, you should be proud of what you did. im an improviser and would like to make a living out of it. im naturally skilled at improvised monologues, i know for a fact i can never write the way i improvise my monologues

aw, thanks.  looking back, i was just afraid i was being disrespectful for jumping in all amateur and shit.
i havent did anything like that since.  only in my dreams...

ive been on stage before and didnt get a lot of laughs, it happens. it didnt bother me at all lol. improv isnt always funny. you should try something like it again. most open mics are full of other supportive artists.

It's official. She can do no wrong!! Now she has to add "write poetry book" to her list of things to do!

Here's the poem that came out of me ten minutes after watching the video of Amanda -- it's rough and dirty and somewhat self-contradictory, but of course I owe Amanda the inspiration:

In this world we are drifting

One oared man
give me your hand
so we can row together
in this red boat of mine
towards somewhere…

Don’t mind
the splintered boards
where the last men
broke their way through
I’ve got a tin can.
It’ll be all right.

We’ll hold candles
when it rains
I’ll watch the shadows
across your face
And say:
“That one looks like Africa.”

And in the wind
you’ll fly a kite
let go of the string
and say:
“Look at how high we can go.”

Heave-ho, let’s go
the trip will take days
and my little red boat
won’t stay afloat for long
once you step inside.

So I watched that video, then clicked on that girls youtube homepage...apparently Buddy Wakefield was there too, along with Saul and Amanda.
I met Buddy last month at the same time I met Andrea Gibson - they were touring together.
Suddenly the world seems so very small...

Well, I care, because I'm seeing Saul at the Atalanta show!  I freakin' LOVE Saul!
