Sleepytime Gorilla Museum (!!!)
« on: February 10, 2008, 01:44:03 PM »

I had this thread on the old Box. They are my favoritest band.

Sleepytime is truly unclassifiable. They call themselves "rock against rock." A good example of their range can be shown with Grand Opening and Closing. It goes from a slow, eerie song sung by Carla in a shakyish voice that goes from quiet to near crying yelling (Ablutions), a metal sounding fast paced song about partying like it's 1997, to an instrumental song that is about a minute long which sounds actually happy and you'd expect it to go into something metal and angry, but it's actually a miniature piece! (The Miniature.)

In addition to being incredible musicians, they're also beautiful people, inside and out. I've been lucky enough to have a photoshoot with Carla and Matthias.

Here are some videos to make you fall in love.

Helpless Corpses Enactment The "single" from In Glorious Times. It's so good. Video features Meredith Yayanos and Dawn the Faun.

Formicary Such a great song off of In Glorious Times

Ambugaton (With some joking about in the middle.) Now, I know this is most likely scripted, but it's still so silly. :)

b]Phthisis[/b] I think this is probably their most "approachable" song.

Now, discuss.

I discovered Sleepytime shortly after I discovered Faun Fables back when Dawn toured with The Dolls a few years ago.

I like.

Bump*

So i went to the cd store today and i decided to pay 30 bucks for an special internationl delivering (i don´t have a credit card so when i buy cd´s thorugh the record store it becames a lot more expensive) of "In Glorious Times" by SGM, i loved the "of Natural History" cd i was able to downlad from the "Music Request thread" and damn they are AWESOME!!!! so i decided to pay almost the double amount of money for the cd cause i thought it was "necesary" i need more music by this beautiful Musicians, so did i take the right decision? is it as good as i think it will be?

btw thanks MASS for introducing me to this beautiful band.

They are an awesome band nothing can compare to them(at least of what i have heard in the "of natural history")

... no, i don´t like to see videos in youtube so i can listen to the songs, so i haven´t seen videos of the "In glorous times" cd cause i maybe get a predisposition to hear something.... i kind of have a weird ritual when i buy a new cd.
