Faerie Drawing
« on: July 24, 2007, 06:06:07 PM »

Those of you who comment on my art are always so lovely, and I wanted to share the following picture with you!

I did it for Loreena McKennitt, as a gift, because it was inspired by her song "Stolen Child," as well as a book that I have called "Jazz Age Beauties: The Lost Collection of Ziegfeld Photographer Alfred Cheney Johnston" by Robert Hudovernik. I found the image of a dancer in the book, got inspired by Loreena's song and by the pose, and ended up drawing her as a faerie: I made her hair spiky, put sparkling things in the air around her, put ivy around her waist, and gave her wings.

Tell me what you think!

Thank you so very much! :love5: I'm glad that you like it. I know, I wasn't sure where to put it...I almost did put it in the "shameless self promotion" section, and didn't put it in "art" because it isn't Dolls inspired. I decided on this category mainly because it's kind of a miscellaneous thing. :D

doesn't.  even.  matter.

F'real, you should start a thread with some more of your work in SSP.  I'd like to see.

Do you sell this, or you do it for yourself?

Thank you so much! I'd love for Amanda to see it, I bet she'd like it.

What's SSP? I do have a deviantART page where I upload everything. http://ladyjazzkiller.deviantart.com/

I don't sell anything, I really just do it for myself or as gifts! I don't think I'm old enough to actually legally sell my art. Not that the majority of it is really worth buying anyway! Every once in a while I come up with something good, though!

your drawing makes me believe in fairies and magic in the moonlight

art is it's own reward
and you're generous to share your splendid work with us

SSP is shorthand for the forum Shameless Self Promotion
not a bfd posting your art here 'cause of forum ignorance
non-doll art that wasn't yours would be ok here in EE
some art might belong in Anarchy
brigade related art might belong in Reconnaissance
there may be finer points of box etiquette i've missed

thanks
and i hope you keep posting your creations

yeah, it's not a big deal.

but you SHOULD go into Shameless Self Promotion and start yourself a thread!  I find your artwork very enticing, and I want to see more.

Thank you thank you thank you! That's an enormous compliment and it makes me feel so good!
I will most definitely post more of my art here for you guys in the SSP section. :) (Thank you for that, too)

I will do that! There are a couple of pictures that are on my personal list of favourites that I'm sure you'd all like. Of course if you, Drizz, went to my dA page none of them would be too surprising as you'd probably have already seen them. :)

Love it. Very nice form. You really seem to have the hang of anatomy and shadowing properly. I like it a lot  :)

Thank you, everyone! I'm glad you like it. :)

Oh, and Gypsy Queen! I know that her arms look a little long, but what I really did wrong was that I made her calf too short, so her legs aren't long enough, making her arms look longer than they should be. Oops!
But thank you for pointing that out!
