I was reminded a few more:

Oh man, how could I forget those films? Both are excellent.

Oh, and I'm also speaking up for Children of Men. I don't know why I forgot that one the first time.

The Seventh Seal - Ingmar Bergman's excellent meditation on the nature of Man and Death.
OK, I agree with everything on your list (everything that I've seen anyway), but mostly, thank you
for reminding me of this one.  We've been watching Animaniacs with the nephew (season1, disc 4),
and there's one where Yakko Wakko and Dot are playing checkers with the grim reaper (who has a
cheesy Svee-dish accent)...  "Spielberg eats this stuff up"...  and I couldn't think of the name of the
original film.

AGREED on Pan's Labyrinth, possibly one of the best movies of the year. I mean
its soooo interesting to follow, now, i recomend that you dont speak a word
of spanish so you have to follow the sub titles and get confused and have
to watch it twice to get the full beauty of it... AH-MAZING!!!!!

Doug, next time we see each other, we should talk film. Your taste seems almost impeccable.

As for my own additions:

Magnolia

Funny Games (original version)

Waking Life

I Heart Huckabee's

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2

Robocop (uhhh..)

Videodrome

Harold and Maude

The Thing

Four eyed Monsters

Its not a horror film, in fact if I describe it that will take from the story.
Alright heres what the website tells me to tell you.
Quote
• About •
We made a feature length film called Four Eyed Monsters. The film tells the true story of how susan and I met online and I stalked her at her work and then we ended up dating but with a rule to never speak in person. Then our lives and minds begin to meld and our fantasies and fears manifest as we become a living breathing Four Eyed Monster.
First full length film to be put on Youtube

Watch it here on Youtube

http://foureyedmonsters.com/

I urge you to watch the 71 minute film it was showcased at Slamdance and picked up some awards from Sundance channel. Really watch it !

Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid I'm not even kidding. I love love LOVE this movie.

Straight To Hell The Pogues, Joe Strummer, Elvis Costello and Courtney Love in a spaghetti western by Alex Cox, the guy who made "Sid & Nancy". What more could you want?!

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest Not as good as the book, but still mind-blowing.

Shallow Grave So. Cool. SO COOL!!!!

Boy's Don't Cry Oh man, I still get upset at the thought of this movie. Hilary Swank is ahMAYzing.

Little Voice Gorgeous movie. G-g-g-gorgeous. Really. Phwaaaaah.
