This is my serious face...
« on: July 25, 2007, 04:53:49 PM »

Dear BillH,

One very, very minor suggestion - and please don't be disheartened that we all seem like ungrateful buggers - I'm liking the new forum a great deal...nice shiny buttons to play with...

But you know this bit, which is at the top of the forum pages:

THESHADOWBOX.NET > Other > Everything Else (Moderators: Bill H, indeciSEAN, Brittany, UglyBoy, Twilight, Hesperus) > The Random Thought thread
Could it somehow be at the bottom of the thread page as well?? See, When I scroll down to the end of a thread, I use that to navigate back, especially if I know I have read all I want to in that particular section, but it means a tedious scroll back to the top, and my teachers did tell me that when I get to my age I'd A) Be living on the moon & B) I'd have more leisure time on my hands.

Thanks Mr. Bill you're ace!!  :D

i usually hit "HOME" after reading a topic, so I dont miss it. right now, i wanna go sleep and wake up a php hacker and help the board doing those silly and small things on the code.

cheers! :]

I assembled this team for purposes of a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen thing, but in reading this thread it occurs to me they're all highly bangable. Yeah, even Spider Jerusalem.

for now, you can use the drag down menu, between Jump to: and the Go button just after the last post on a page

just clicking Go takes you to the top of some page with the top menu bar right there

OOoh..actually Len, that's a really good tip - it makes my request redundant I think.

BillH - absolutely no reason to change anything - Len's tip does it!!

Thanks Len!

PS I was using that drop down menu to go to other sections - didn't realise just clicking Go would take you to top of page. (Note to self: Explore more!)

PPS Now I've clawed back some more leisure time, how soon before the moon?

What about when you made a post it takes you back to the index?
In the old board it took you to your post. I want to see how my post looks like.

Hang on, I'm sure it does that...

Edit:

Yes - Profile / look and layout preferences / tick the "Retun to post after posting by default box" and have a little spank from me cos Billh already covered this....

readin' through the Help pages won't hurt.

also will only help a little - they are not up to the quality of the forum software itself

Ah! Thanks / ouch! That got rid of some other annoying things too, like getting a warning that somebody else posted just while you were writing a post. I mean I.

Thanks....youre soooo smart wink

Don't encourage him.
