return of the bogan
« on: April 05, 2008, 07:33:23 AM »

walking around shops today, i noticed loads of teenagers wearing the newest 'fashion' clothing item- the flanellette shirt, accompanied by a white singlet, skinny leg jeans and thongs/ballet flats.  why are they going round looking like the exact people theyd have mocked six months ago: bogans (see http://www.bogan.com.au/)

what are the horrible fashions at the moment in other parts of the world?

I think leggings, baby doll dresses, and ballet flats are still in right now, but we're just moving out of winter so I haven't seen much spring fashion yet.

leggings, baby doll dresses, and ballet flats

ugly, ugly, mostly ugly

I'm sorry, but flat shoes just don't work for girls, unless they're sneakers.
I love the sort of sporty chic style. All-stars under a nice dress are hot (a real dress, not one of those tit-curtain things that's so popular these days)

Well here it's the same thing.
For girls: coloured leggings, ballet flats, MASSIVE fucking TNA/Lululemon bags, ugg boots, and pashmina scarves. Well they look like Pashmina's.

Guys: Scene kids look so disgusting I wish I could just gauge out my eyes, but I can't because then I might bleed to death. They wear skinny jeans. And I mean skinny, like there's this one kid in my school, I can't go on. It's just so disgusting. They straighten their hair to a point that it has been fried. I wish I could just get a picture of this guy, blackout his face so you can see how fucking gross it is to see him. It's SO dirty. Eww. I squirm as I type this. Anyway, short in the back long in the front, so it looks like they have curtains in their head. Super skinny jeans so if it's a fat scene kid it just looks like they're packaging Crisco in their asses. Or a skinny kid, it looks like they're anorexic. Dark plaid shirts, or band tees. With lots and lots of facial piercings so that it looks like the metal is pulling down their skin almost ripping it off. I can't watch when they makeout, the like lick the insides of each others mouth and it looks like 2 dogs kissing.

Anyway, non-scene children wear: Skinny jeans, plaid shirts, big huge sunglasses, converse, with a top hat. Ok, not top hat, but sort of. I dunno what they're called.

I tend to wear: fitted jeans, vans, V-necks, and maybe a cardigan. Sometimes I wear my terrorist scarf, but usually I wear that with my coat, and bright yellow mittens.

Oh are we? Well the kids here wear the typical stuff you'd wear in Spring. We have some retarded dumbasses who wear short shorts in -12 degree weather then complain how cold they are. Thank god I have not yelled at any of them, I like watching them suffer first.

My terrorist scarf (because as some adults like to put it, "only terrorists wear those").

I know you are asking about horrible fashion NOW, but I can't help to comment on that fashion trend you mentioned.

that look has been around for at least a year by now in the states. just check out www.urbanoutfitters.com and you probably will still find some of that look.

I am fairly certain that babydoll tops are slowly fazing out though...it's all over the place last year and it's not that great of a style to begin with.

skinny jeans and ballet slippers: I actually like both of them (unfortunately the ballet slippers I've tried are all filmsy, but I am not going to assume that applies to all ballet slipper-looking things). Ballet slippers are actually here to stay for a while,  from what I"ve seen/heard, while skinnies may not as "in" as last year, but it's not "out" either.

and if my comments are unstructured& weird to read, excuse me while I go get my tea for today.

seriously though, ugg boots should be BANNED. okay, maybe not banned, but perhaps only permitted  in cold weather but not as fashion statements.

Really? I find baby doll dresses and tops to be unflattering to most any woman's figure.

Umm, that comment was about flat shoes not working for females.
Baby doll dresses/tops need to vanish along with the lo-rise jeans thing.
Then again, I think fashion peaked in the late '40s.
